That nose art wouldn't happen to be on your ride would it?
No, sadly, my jets have no nose art.
That's too bad. It's really a lost art that IMHO needs to come back.
That's right he DID paint that on the X-1 too.
I can't tell you how many times I've read his autobiography.
He's another one of my military idols.
Heating up my dinner now. Thanks for the reminder. LOL
Bud Moore and Chuck Yeager. How'd you like to have those guys on your wing in a flight of four?
Nodding in agreement.
Handsome young Byron and Hobbes....hmmmm.
Imagine.
Come to think of it even at his age I bet Chuck could fly the pants off a few guys up there.
He and Bud Moore came to Midland for the CAF Airshow right before I came back active duty. I wanted them to sign my book. But I couldn't afford the $200 a ticket! LOL!

Anyone interested in the preservation of WWII aircraft can find out more here.
The CAF has the ONLY remaining flying B-29 "Fifi".
They are doing their part to preserve the nose art of the old planes too.
Best moment for me at their annual Air-Sho was meeting newly minted CAF "Colonel" Major Paul Tibbets III, USAF.
Grandpa was being inducted into the CAF Hall of Fame that weekend it was great.
"Handsome young Byron and Hobbes....hmmmm."
It's scary how much they are alike. Same energy and most of all the same off the wall imagination. It keeps me laughing all the time.
Alrighty. Good for you it's warming up. :^D
Good morning everyone.
