TOKYO — Former President Bill Clinton said Saturday he expects diplomacy to play a larger role in President Bush's second term in office because of "the drain on our military." Speaking at an international forum in Japan, Clinton said Bush's second-term appointment of Condoleezza Rice (search) as secretary of state marked a new beginning for the administration. "I think by sending Condoleezza Rice to the State Department (search), (the president) was saying diplomacy will be more important in his second term," Clinton said. "The drain on our military has made this administration more interested in diplomacy." Clinton also was in Tokyo to promote a Japanese-language edition of his best-selling memoir "My Life."

Here is another fine example of the liberal double standard and the left ACCUSING THE RIGHT of doing exactly what they do. This impeached reporbate spent EIGHT YEARS DESSIMATING AND DEMORALIZING THE MILITARY OF OUR COUNTRY and he has to twisted, sick gall to accuse GWB of marginalizing ANYTHING about our military. Who the hell is this maggot, who was despised by the majority of our military, to in any way, PRETEND that he is concerned about our military????

PASS THE LARGEST BARF BUCKET PLEASE!!!!

No, Monica drained Bubba and Bubba in turn, drained the military. Well documented his disdain for the military.

I'm sure he will also blame G. Washington for straining our relations with Great Britain. Shouldn't this guy be dead from an std by now?

Not to defend Bill, but the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is indeed a drain on our military. And, Clinton has been extremely consistent in supporting the President's decision to go to war in Iraq.

Clinton has pretty much refrained from criticism of Bush with regard to the military actions, and in fact defended him against criticisms made by his fellow democrats, especially with regard to WMDs. Good one! This guy should shut his mouth (and his zipper, but we won't go there!). He would have disbanded the military altogether if he didn't see it as a tool for his PC social experiments.

Friend of mine has a son in the Navy who was in HongKong a few days ago. There was much excitement--he didn't know why--then he found out that BillyBoy was in town hawking his book. He had a line waiting for signed copies stretching out for a couple blocks.

Maybe these folks need a dose of what the Chicoms have in store for them--wake them up before it is too late.

"Would somebody please re-post the list of the military assets that William the Impeached destroyed?"

Add to that sending the military all over the place with perhaps the worse scope definition (including mission creep) and ROE's since McNamara was SecDef.

And the introduction of "political education" sessions in place of real training.
