One of the down sides of covering news for decades is one gets to see all the horror that exists in the world.
One factor no one considers in homosexual behaviour is that in every homosexual couple one partner plays the normal sexual role. In every lesbian relationship there is the female that plays the male role. There is also the female that plays the female roll.
In my news career I must have interiewed dozens of lesbians. I became convinced that the ones that played the female roles were normal though damaged females. I never found a case in a lesbian relationship where the one that played the female roll had not been abused by a male. Some had been sexually attacked by fathers or other male members of her family. Some had been horribly abused by men they had become involved with as young ladies. They were scared to death of men.. and could only function sexually with a masculine female.
On the other hand I am convinced the female who plays the male roll in a lesbian relationship is born that way. They walk like men.. they talk like men.. they react like men. They are in my opinion men in a female body. Neither are normal human beings.
Can people change from a natural state? Certainly. In the vernacualar a Butch can change from being a butch. And the female lesbian can learn to have a good relationship with a male.
But the solution is not to thow away less than perfect offspring. There is no Christianity in condeming sinners before judgement day. The Bible teaches us to reach out .. even when rejected. The primary job of Christians is to save souls.
It is not the job or the right of Alan Keyes to condem his daughter or anyone's daughter. It is job and duty of Alan Keyes to try to save his daughter's soul. Jesus reached out to sinners and set an example. His teachings are the embodyment of hate the sin but love the sinner.
Men like Alan Keyes do not live the teachings of the bible. Key's certainly knew at least since puberty that his now twenty somthing daughter was a lesbian.
But Alan put him self in a spot. He had to know his daughter was gay.. but he also wanted to srike out at Dick Cheney. So he struck out at Cheney's daughter... Then felt he had no option when the media pointed out his daughters sexual preference, but to strike out at his own child.
Keyes proves day after day that he worships attention and power. He will do what ever the devil asks in his attempt to acquire it.
For men like Keyes the devil only promises. The Devil knows need never deliver. Keyes is a sorry case of a very failed human being.
I have often attacked Alan Keyes on Free Republic. But he is no longer a political force on an opposing side. he is a sad example of a failed human being.
Yep, not like anything's changed for the better.
Two thoughts...
1). Alan Keyes hasn't thrown away his daughter, but has stopped funding her education and housing. His daughter has stated her understanding of his position and it appears that his only "condemnation" came in an unwillingness to fund his daughter's lifestyle.
2). How does one save souls if people aren't made aware that their sin requires salvation?
Cutting off support is one thing. Cutting off all communication is quite another. Even for Keyes, this is shocking behavior.
