Ditto. I also would not disown blood unless they tried to take out another family member (and i mean life not political standing).
What we are witnessing here is being played out on many stages around the world. It is a collision of worldviews. On the one side you have liberal religionists who rely more on subjective feelings vs. Biblical truth.
There is a fight going on for the Church, one that Satan has orchestrated by disguising himself as an angel of light and infected the Church with the liberalism of the postmodernists.
Jesus made it clear that the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church, so be assured, those of us who stand on Biblical truth will not lose this fight.
After ROFL, the only question I can think of for you is this:
Is that how all the crap got in?
I don't know who died and made you the authority on Christianity and I don't know what made you think you could come on here the day you signed in and takeover a thread, but you're wrong on both counts.
Totally agree..they're my kids...they will always have a home.
Hardly.
Sorry..bad example...don't see how you can equate the two.
"You can bet the farm the only person Keyes will ever blame is his daughter."
I have always held the position that anything I did't like about my children was due to something I did wrong.
That attitude has given me children that fill me to bursting with pride and joy. The most recent thing I found out about one of them doing has brought unspeakable joy to the lives of two people he never met.
The reason you don't see discussion of adultery is because the topic is not about adultery.
If you want a discussion on adultery then start a thread on adultery.
For what, having the courage to stand up for what he believes? Just where do you draw the line? Do you even care to draw a line? Even Keyes daughter understood the "why" of this situation. Every hear of the prodical son? He let him go do his thing, but not in his house. You welcome them back when they change with open arms... but you don't change your value system to accomadate known sins to God.
They're baaaaack...
Good passage, but you left out the parallel passage in Luke 17:3-4;
3Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you,[a] rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you,[b] saying, "I repent,' you shall forgive him."
God does not forgive the unrepentant sinner, and neither are we required to forgive the unrepentent. We can love them and have a forgiving spirit that is eager to forgive, but forgiveness is a 2 way street. The offending party must first realize they have sinned against you and repent before genuine forgiveness can be extended. Unless you think you are more loving and more moral than God.
My love for my kids is unconditional..they will always have a home....I'm their dad, and they are the most important "things" in my life.
Funny how they always leave out Luke 17:3-4 that is a parallel passage and makes the point of how forgiveness comes about with full force of clarity.
AHHHH...You mean we should read the scriptures in CONTEXT??
Wow, what a concept...
;-)
Great post!
It appears to me that yes there are those Keyes-haters and you know who you are, who are using this just as an excuse to bash Keyes, regardless of what the thread is about, and yes there seems to be those who have grudges against Christian hypocrisy and maybe just Christianity in general, who have projected such feelings here on this thread and you know who you are.
And there are those sincere individuals who mis-apply Scripture to condemn Keyes behavior and no you don't know who you are.
Thanks for that post...but I don't see where it says that you should kick them out of your house or disown them.
