Dean Roars Into Town ("This Is A Struggle Of Good And Evil. And We're The Good.")
Lawrence Journal World (Kansas) ^ | February 26, 2005 | Joel Mathis

There were plenty of screams Friday afternoon at Liberty Hall, but none of them came from Howard Dean.

Instead, the new chairman of the Democratic National Committee was cheered enthusiastically by a sign-waving crowd gathered to hear Dean's message that the party must build its strength in traditionally Republican states such as Kansas.

"We need to go everywhere," he told the rally. "There is not one county in this state, I don't care how far west you go, that doesn't have Democrats. We have to be proud of who we are."

It was a message gladly received among the Democratic faithful.

"It was wonderful, very energizing, a very positive, powerful message," said Micheline Burger, who joined nearly 1,000 others in paying $5 to hear Dean, the former presidential candidate. "It gives me a hope there's a good future ahead of us, as opposed to what we've been having the last four years."

Mark Simpson, executive director of the Kansas Democratic Party, was unavailable to say how much the party raised Friday. But Dean's rally, along with a $100-a-head fund-raiser at the home of Lawrence residents John and Nancy Hiebert, provided the state party with a fresh infusion of cash.

Just as important, other officials said, they got some inspiration.

"Just enthusiasm," said Kathy Greenlee, chair of Douglas County Democrats. "Not only for Democrats in Douglas County, but Democrats across Kansas."

"There is not one county in this state, I don't care how far west you go, that doesn't have Democrats. We have to be proud of who we are.""

He the added ...

The demand for the immediate liberation of colonies that is put forward by all revolutionary social democrats is also impracticable under capitalism without a series of revolutions. But from this it does not mean that social democracy should reject the immediate and most determined struggle for all demands... This demand must be formulated and put through in a revolutionary and not a reformist manner, going beyond the bounds of bourgeois legality, breaking them down, going beyond speeches in parliament and verbal protests and drawing the masses into decisive action, extending and intensifying the struggle for every fundamental democratic demand up to a proletarian onslaught on the bourgeoisie.

Ending with the battle cry ...

"Yeeeeeeeearrrrrrhhhhh!"

Declaring oneself to be "good" or one's belief system to be "good", does not, in an objective sense, make it truly good. It is one thing to live in error because you don't know, or have never had the opportunity to correct the misperceptions upon which your value system is based, it is another entirely to have available the means to compare your value systems with others, see the revealed errors in its internal logic, and stubbornly refuse to make the necessary corrections.

The Universe is a just, impartial and totally merciless place, which makes it both dangerous and implacable.

One does not stand on the tracks, chest bared and shouting defiance, in the path of an oncoming freight train.

The RAT party in KS has devoted itself to infiltrating and destroying the KS Republican party, because they know the RAT party can never gain statewide power. The "moderate" Republicans are actually RATs who have sneaked into the Republican party to commit sabotage. Dean knows this and is praising the spies.

I've never seen a politician rise so high based on absolutely nothing except that he is able to command a camera to watch him vent his rage the way his constituents do. It seems that what the DUmmies want most is to have someone pay attention to their rage, to be affected by it (as in having Bush be hurt by their insults). That's it--they don't care most about making this a better world, or they'd push aside their childishness and work on promoting what they see as excellent policies.

They don't care about that. They believe in the temper tantrum as policy. The average American couldn't tell you the first thing Dean stands for in terms of policy, all they know is he bitches and moans about Republicans, that's it. He doesn't criticize and promote alternative approaches, he BITCHES.

If the dems think that's gonna get them back in power, good luck. But no one votes for a bunch of people who want to get in power so they can spend the next four years complaining about how bad the previous guy was.

Hey Howie!

Just a little advice, when you have to keep reminding your followers that they are the "Good Guys", you might want to start looking for people who aren't so apt to forget.

It can get real embarrassing to find out they have forgotten and started murdering babies and cheering on terrorists and such.

Unless you're a liberal, of course...

Indeed, Douglas County (Lawrence is the county seat) was the only blue county in an otherwise solid red Kansas.

Not entirely true. Wyandotte County (the Kansas part of Kansas City) goes blue all the time as well. But Douglas County (Moscow on the Plains, with the Kremlin based in Lawrence) and Wyandotte County (Government Cheeseville) are the only two places in Kansas where Dean wouldn't have been laughed out of town for his Stuart Smalley imitation (we're good, and doggoneit, people like us!).

The big news here is that the local Democrat "dignitaries" wouldn't meet with Dean. Congressman Dennis Moore is conveniently out-of-state at the moment. Governor Kathleen Sebelius won't meet with him, nor will the mayor of the consolidated KC KS/Wyandotte county government, Carol Marinovich. They know Dean is toxic, and to been seen shaking hands with him in this state is akin to aborting your political career in the 48th trimester or so.

"Did the evil unborn babies struggle against the good Dr. Dean's abortion tools?"

That hit the nail on the head perfectly! Amen to that!

This Is A Struggle Of Good And Evil. And We're The Good.

Interesting. He just called about 70% of Kansas evil. Hey, but he got 5K for it! It's really kind of sad. The left has no strategic vision anymore.

Same thing could be said about pedophiles. Merge the DNC with NAMBLA if you haven't already.

"They are the Good?

Oh that it were so, Mr. Dean. . ."

This from the 'people of the lie'. .

Have you noticed Dean is always braying about someone (Rush, conservatives). . "

. . and yes, Dean; like all Demrats, must always drag a Repub in; dirty him up; just to make himself look clean.

But the liberals are all moral relativists. I thought good and evil were just a matter of perspective, according to them. Oh, wait, I forgot...liberals are exempt from their own rules.

I've finally figured out a strategy for the Democratic Party. It is to become so idiotic, marginalized, and fanatically unfit as to be laughable in order to offer no real resistance to the Republican power structure. Thus will the GOP grow foolhardy, flabby, and complacent (as did the Dems) and simply defeat itself.

It's not like Dems have an actual plan against the GOP or for anything worthy. Plus, their main attack dogs have been having their teeth pulled lately by bloggers. They should just punt and live to fight another day, it would take a lot less energy than all this posing and puffing...they need the attention, I guess.

Howard Dean simply cannot keep his mouth shut. He cannot be a technician rather than a would-be policy-maker. He ought to know that the job of DNC Chair, which he sought so vigorously, requires him to RUN the Party, but not LEAD the Party.

Nothing could be better for Republicans and conservatives that Dean, a man who never read the job description for DNC Chair, holds that job. He is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Yes, well, if Dean and the Dems didn't think their beliefs were rightful and just, and that all opposed were at least badly misguided (and perhaps evil,) they wouldn't hold those beliefs, now would they? And of course, the same applies to the Nazis, Communists, Socialists, Greens, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, Republicans, Neocons, Paleocons and "Moderates." Such is the nature of disagreements over the fundamental premises used to decide right from wrong.
