Very happy to see that this woman followed her heart and carried her baby to full term.
As the father of a 2yo son with Down syndrome, I can not even begin to explain the joy, friendship and appreciation for what is important that our son has brought to us. He has the ability to draw everyone in a room to him and to bring smiles to their faces.
Because of him, we have met so many other great families and learned from their trials and tribulations. We our now in the position of counselling and advising, as others did for us when we first found out. We have slowed down, got our priorities straight and enjoy life a little bit more.
I'm more than happy to discuss Ds, or Trisomy 21 as it is also known, with anyone. If you have ANY questions (or questions from friends or family members), please do not hesitate to FReepmail me.

If you go to the link I provide below, you will see a slide show where a 21 week old fetus is being operated on and the "baby" reaches through the tiny opening and grasps the doctors hand. Startling the doctor so much that he momentarily stops. :o)
I'd post a picture but the photographer has a copyright lock on it.
Anyway, the doctor shook the little hand as the baby held on firmly. It's an amazing story and you can see it here:
