BTK' Busted, Wichita Paper Linked to Case Plans Special Coverage

Police have uncovered new evidence in the decades old BTK Wichita serial killer case and are questioning a person of interest, according to sources close to the investigation.

Authorities scheduled a news conferece for 11AM Eastern Saturday to make an announcement in the case, and relatives of the killers victims would be briefed beforehand.

Some police sources have said that a 59 year old man was arrested Friday and linked to the case by a DNA sample.

Surveillance activites gave police 'their first big piece' of recent evidence, leading authorities to a vehicle and the person of interest.

Investigators also searched a house in the Wichita suburb of Park City Friday, siezing computer equipment.

The unibomber brother spent a lot of time trying to get a no execute deal for his brother. All the while there was the chance that more people would have been murdered.

It's good to see you too! Thanks for the link..I've been reading the info at the crime library website. I remember the new letter coming out last year in the local news...but not a lot of info since then. I hadn't heard of him prior to that... In this area, if you include witchita has had at least 4 serial killers that I can think of.

What about the 1991 killing? It is my understanding the death penalty was not reinstated until the mid-90's.

I understand that. My original comment was addressed to somebody in this thread who thought that our death row was located in Leavenworth, a federal prison. The state prison that has our death row (assuming that we still have capital punishment) is located in El Dorado.
