Police have uncovered new evidence in the decades old BTK Wichita serial killer case and are questioning a person of interest, according to sources close to the investigation.
Authorities scheduled a news conferece for 11AM Eastern Saturday to make an announcement in the case, and relatives of the killers victims would be briefed beforehand.
Some police sources have said that a 59 year old man was arrested Friday and linked to the case by a DNA sample.
Surveillance activites gave police 'their first big piece' of recent evidence, leading authorities to a vehicle and the person of interest.
Investigators also searched a house in the Wichita suburb of Park City Friday, siezing computer equipment.

I'm listening to local radio here in Wichita. The general opinion is that the "press conference" was a stupid political rally and a waste of time and money. DH & I graduated in 2000. She does seem like a sweet girl from her website. I'm glad to see she knows the Lord. That is the only thing that will get her through this right now.

I can't even imagine. I actually broke out in goosebumps when I read that the daughter may have been instrumental in breaking this case.
Unfathomable. Some will question a daughter doing that and if it was right. Watch. I remember the uni-bomber's brother being criticized by some loony lefties for breaking the so-called sacred bond of blood trumping all. A peek into their warped minds.

Well, something had to make her think of her father, right? She seems, by her website anyway, a fairly even keeled girl. Then again, that's me looking at her website for five minutes... How the hell do I know how even keeled she was. I'm sure Jeffrey Dahmer could've looked even keeled on a website?
The question is:
Did she go to the police or did the police come to her?

These guys had a serial killer on the loose for 31 years and it looked like a city hall retirement ceremony in there
She hasn't been chastised yet....I just read here on FR that she may have been the one who broke the case.
But I am predicting some will criticize her. Hopefully I will be wrong.
I am with you MEG33, I will wait until the trial to get the true info. As much coverage as Fox News and other media outlets provided, much of it turned out to be false and misleading.
What if the police already had her DNA,somehow and it was a "close" match?
