Senator Susan Collins of Maine alerts the enemy to US Troop movements.
Advertiser Democrat of Norway, Maine

GREATER OXFORD HILLS - Oxford Hills families of 133d Engineer Guardsmen are thrilled and appalled.
The are thrilled, of course, because their soldiers are coming home. But many families here are disturbed and upset that Senator Susan Collins announced Monday on national television specifically which days the unit would be in the air, even specifying that the first group would fly "Wednesday afternoon."
A spokesperson from the senator's press office, however, said that Senator Collins had been given the information by U. S. military officials and had permission to make the details public. This has done little to calm the uneasiness that the disclosure caused.
One Oxford Hills father who has a child in the unit even indicated that some of the 133d troops weren't happy about the public announcement, either. "There is a little crankiness about that [Collins' telling the flight dates] from the troops over there. There is such a thing as operational security. So I have heard a little flack [from our soldiers] about it," the dad said.
On Tuesday, another Oxford Hills man who, also, has a child serving with the 133d was angry about the broadcasting of the travel plans. "Maybe she [Collins] should just ask for the insurgents e-mail addresses and sent them out an itinerary. Our [child] is still sitting in Mosul and it was a little unnerving to think that Collins is giving out dates and times. It's bad enough getting out of there as it is. If the Air Force thinks that word is out as far as planes going [to and from] Mosul, they cancel flights. So I hope my [child's] flight wasn't canceled because of Collins," he said...

Having read about McCain while he was in Nam, I stand corrected, they are two peas in a pod.
If we get any downed aircraft or KIA as a result (however unlikely), I say pursue high treason charges with utmost vigor and Extr. Prej.....

I was trying to think of the right words but your cartoon....perfect. ROTFLMAO
Your asinine comment astounds me.
you wrote
"Just because Senator Collins is a Republican...."
'hes not! Shes a RINO like McCain!'
no.....McCain served honorably in vietnam...they both may share some RINO postions, but she would have to prove her self quite a bit to be compared to McCain, who backs the military.
"A spokesperson from the senator's press office, however, said that Senator Collins had been given the information by U. S. military officials and had permission to make the details public."
This is BAD OPSEC.
"You really believe that women can't lead?"
That's not at all what I said... Re-read my original post and then re-phrase your question if you like.
I udnerstand your point, but, to many of us, while they are men and women in uniform who have been in combat, theya re still our sons, daughters and grandkids.
Whem I pray, I refer to them as kids, I am aware that may sound as if I am not showing them the respect they deserve.
but, John, the author of the report is a Veteran of Iraq one. I am sure he would never write anything disrespectful towards the troops.

OK
What's your definition of a "leading women"?
Like Maggy Thatcher....or Condi Rice????
They can lead and should be required to register for the Draft along with the men.
I hope a democrat beats Chaffee. Any republican that beats him would probably be just as bad.
I have a hard time believing this considering some of the lectures on OPSEC from my son's FRG's.
Now you sound like Pee Wee Herman.
No 0-6 or below is going to tell a US Senator that they can not repeat something, she is a US Senator. Any US Senator, even a rino like COllins can destroy a career with a phone call.
