My Fellow Muslims: Wake Up!
religionjournal ^ | Feb. 25, 2005 | KAMAL NAWASH

(FreeMuslims.org) Muslim-bashing. That's the accusation many of my fellow Muslims now hurl at the various news outlets for their news stories about a Freedom House investigation that found extremist Islamic literature in some leading American mosques. This name-calling is unfortunate.

Since 1980, the Muslim world has experienced an enormous growth of religious fanaticism and extremism the likes of which Islam has not experienced in its 1,400 years. This movement continues to grow because of the spread of Wahhabi Islam, a sect that used to number no more than one percent of all Muslims, but because of money and technology, has spread to more areas around the world.

Extremism is also growing because of an ideology called political Islam. The basis of political Islam is the rejection of secularism and the belief that the mosque and the state should be completely intertwined. Unfortunately, history has shown that when politics and religion are completely intertwined, disaster results.

Most importantly, extremism in the Muslim world continues to grow because most Muslims are unwilling to admit that we have a problem with extremism and support for terrorism. The response by Muslims to the Freedom House report is not the first time that the Muslim community resorted to denial and accusations of Muslim-bashing when presented with evidence of Muslim culpability.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9/11 terrorist acts. After 9/11, many Muslims, including religious leaders and "intellectuals," blamed 9/11 on a Jewish conspiracy, and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4,000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on that day.

I don't believe that it's the extremists that are the problem. It's the core of islam that is. They all need to reject it and become athiests, xtians, hindus.. whatever.

The essence of Islam is murdering and inducing fear. Within the Muslim world and outside the Muslim world, that is what prevails. Islam is a playbook for power and tyranny.

Any peaceful notions in Islam appear to have come from some small Human Nature gene and not from any belief of Mohammed (May Allah remove his followers from the planet).

Simply put, not only do Muslims need to join the war against extremism and terror, we need to take the lead in this war.

I agree with this and will be pleasantly surprised if it happens.

Prophet of Doom - Islam’s Terrorist Dogma, In Muhammad’s Own Words

Islam is a caustic blend of regurgitated paganism and twisted Bible stories.
Muhammad, its lone prophet, conceived his religion solely to satiate his lust for power, sex, and money.
He was a terrorist.

And if you think these conclusions are shocking, wait until you see the evidence at www.prophetofdoom.net.

"Why I left Islam", by Dr. Ali Sina

"...the real Islam is not what its philosophers and mystics have inferred but what is in the Quran and that is the Islam of the fundamentalist and the terrorist. The real Islam is the Islam that abuses women, that allows men to beat their wives, that imposes penalty tax on the religious minorities, that wants to dominate the world by subduing all the non-Muslims, that calls for Jihad and killing the non-believers until Islam becomes the only dominant religion of the World*."

"The enemy is Islam and that is the target of my attacks. I do that, despite knowing that I have become the magnet of the hatred of fanatical Muslims and my own life could be in danger.

Yet I know that by eradicating Islam we can save the world from the dangers of a catastrophe that otherwise is looming over our heads and could cause more disaster than the 1st and 2nd World Wars combined."

Islamic terror based on Qu’ran: ex-CIA official

"A former top official of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency paints a menacing picture of the relationship between Islam and terrorism.

"Islamic terrorism is based on Islam as revealed through the Qu’ran," keynote speaker Bruce Tefft claimed in a panel discussion at the University of Toronto on jihad and global terrorism.

And, he added, "There is no difference between Islam and Islamic fundamentalism, which is a totalitarian construct..."

According to Tefft, the Qu’ran enjoins Muslims to believe that the whole world should be governed by the principles of Islam*, an expansionist religion that has historically grown through conquest..."

*‘Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Qur'an should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth’

yep KAMAL NAWASH

God bless his soul, he is a regular on the Fox News Channel apparently, now why isn't he on the other news channels, oh because a Muslim with conservative as in US conservative views, not controversial views, can't have that now....

I'm on his group's email list,

we should all be supporting groups like this guy's, because you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that Islamists are a threat to everyone including Muslims!!!

the Iraqis know that first hand

That is correct. As long as there is Islam, there will be those who choose to model their lives after Muhammad. This is not rocket science.

You are exactly right--look at how the MSM and liberal elites treat African American conservatives for the same reason!

I would definitely like to read more of Mr. Nawash's opinions.

I would feel better if the rival to Wahabbism, Sufism, was promoted as extensively.

As I recall, the Sufi community was the only sect that immediately denounced Osama bin Laden after September 11th.

Yo Ali!

Great post.  You probably won't see this comment as it's sure to be buried under a mountain of invective, but I do thank you for the links.  The Freerepublic has stuff that most other sources lack, but freepers are crazier with Islam then free trade even.

cheers

Basically, he's saying extremism is becoming the core of Islam.

Extremism has always been the core of Islam.

The problem with the so-called "Peaceful Religion" of Islam is that the leaders, most of whom I believe are peaceful, are staying shamefully silent on the issue of extremist Islam. Most Muslims really are kind, decent people. I know that the ones that I know are some of the meekest and kindest people I know. But I think that we are going to someday reach the point that we have to label all Muslims as terrorists. This is a very harsh tactic, but apparently until we start making every Muslim wear the label, the leaders will not openly criticize the extremists. Only when the leaders convince the terrorists that instead of earning themselves a trip to heaven they are sending themselves straight to Hell will terrorism start to wane. I fear that unless we start painting main-stream Islam with a broad brush, the leaders will continue to stay silent on the subject.
