I don't believe that it's the extremists that are the problem. It's the core of islam that is. They all need to reject it and become athiests, xtians, hindus.. whatever.

Read what he's saying:
Since 1980, the Muslim world has experienced an enormous growth of religious fanaticism and extremism the likes of which Islam has not experienced in its 1,400 years. This movement continues to grow because of the spread of Wahhabi Islam, a sect that used to number no more than one percent of all Muslims, but because of money and technology, has spread to more areas around the world.
Basically, he's saying extremism is becoming the core of Islam.

That is correct. As long as there is Islam, there will be those who choose to model their lives after Muhammad. This is not rocket science.

The author Kamal is a Muslim heretic and an apostate. He wants to mouth the Infidel party line. He puts the pleasures of earth above those of the afterlife.
He knows what Allah wants done, it's written in black and white in the Koran in case there is any doubt; but Kamal would rather make nice with the Infidels than get their blood on his hands.
If you can't abide the religion then get out of it. But Kamal wants it changed to accommodate his idea of the religion. He wants an Islam Lite or a cafeteria style religion where you pick and chose what suits your ideas and lifestyle, and ignore the fundamentals of the religion.
Get out of Islam you hypocritical heretic. - Tom

I agree that the teachings of the religion are always going to cause conflict if the followers are true to its teachings. It's more like a call to arms that uses the threat of death for disobeying and gives the reward of an endless supply of virgins for those who die while killing for the cause. There will always be a conflict as long as there are people who disagree with the religion.
