Anybody who has forgotten Krauthammer's venomous outburst against Mel Gibson, The Passion, and the Christian Gospels, can consult this link, where Freepers who read Krauthammer's column ("Gibson's blood libel") condemned it as hateful.

I was going to explain about Krauthammer's wheelchair, but I see someone else already did---

I saw him on C-span one night give a speech that was very long (and of course very good), but I hurt for him after a while, because you can tell that talking for any length of time is very tiring, plus he had to change positions in wheelchair, quite often---

It made me respect him more, because it does take such a physical effort---but ya gotta love his brain!!!

I vote against this move. Yet the Magen David was used as shield for a reason -- the inner vertices were used to draw, catch and redirect the opponents thrust, and perform a judo-like use of the opponent's momentum to expose his flank.

"and he doesn't suffer fools...gracefully"

LOL

Boy that's the truth! The look on his face when Juan starts spurting his garbage, is telling. And priceless.

Interestingly, the archives of townhall.com and jewishworldreview.com have omitted the march 5 column of Charles Krauthammers. Maybe others don't want to remember him venting. Most of his columns are well reasoned and valuable.

I checked it out and I am in disagreement with the whole "Blood Libel" concept to begin with.

This ultimately casts any Christian as a walking, talking, breathing hate crime just for having knowledge of His name.

Sorry to see Krauthammer throwing in with this crowd.

In the end, I'll blame the French anyway.

"Venting" is a very generous way to describe an ugly outburst of anti-Christian bigotry. I certainly wouldn't give David Duke the courtesy of calling his anti-semitic homilies, "venting." Krauthammer doesn't deserve a pass for bigotry, either.

I was shocked when I read Krauthammer's column. But unlike a lot of Freepers, I haven't = and won't - forget it.

I saw the film and so did many others. We all seemed to be in agreement that the cultural aftertaste was one of fear and loathing® for the embodiment of brutality posed by the Romans in that time.

The setting is in Judea so naturally the story revolves around the Jews. The Christ was(is) a Jew. Point is, they represent most any society of peoples whose masses never quite truly know what it is they've done and the forces they've set in motion.

Another point is that anyone reaching and grasping for theories to show there is antisemitism, where none exists, is not really looking for antisemitism.
This is what disturbs me.

My motto is: Never forget the Holocaust. Also, Never forget bigots who would use and abuse the Holocause to slur Christianity. Charles Krauthammer revealed himself as such a bigot against my religion. Whenever I see a freerepublic thread that praises him, I remind people of his vile slurs against Mel Gibson and Christianity.

Yes, a lot of people would like his infamous anti-Christian screed to go down the memory hole. Kind of like Jesse Jackson's anti-semitic "hymie town" comment is never mentioned. Well, I won't let people forget that Jesse's an anti-semite, and I won't let people intentionally "forget" that Krauthammer is an anti-Christian bigot.

HE was wrong about the blood libel. I fear he is wrong about the security fence too given the bombing in Tel Aviv. I hate to say I root against the so-called "peace process" but it seems to me that every time the Israelis give up a little more and get a little less. Land For Peace. That's not a bargain, thats a protection racket.

But anyway, Charles has some incredible insights, distasteful as his religious opinions may be.

Ya think? Saying he's "wrong" about Gibson being a "blood libeller" is really putting it generously, isn't it? I don't say that David Duke is "wrong" about his anti-semitic claims, I call those claims "evil." Bigotry is a matter of being evil, not being merely mistaken.

I don't view this move as land for peace but rather a barrier to proven terrorists. We could use several in the US, IMHO.

No barrier is forever and neither is any peace; We position for a time.

yes, I disagreed with that column too, primarily because the emerging threat of radical Islam is the main danger to both Christians and Jews.Antisemitism today has a Muslim face, not a Christian one. Islamists want to expunge anyone who is not one of them. We must hang together or we will indeed hang separately

won't let people intentionally "forget" that Krauthammer is an anti-Christian bigot.

I agree, Charles has made a lot of sense in his positions on terrorism (don't listen to them, don't negotiate with them, don't trade or believe in what they say.) But I never saw this tirade about the Passion until this thread. He was not alone in his belief that the Passion would stir up the "Jews killed Christ" slogan followers again, and he realized how powerful the message of The Passion of Christ would be. But the anti-semitism that he feared did not happen and he exposed himself to be profoundly wrong on the subject. I wonder at whose request the column was pulled from these archives?

That said, I will go back to respecting his insight and knowledge when he is right.

I'd like to say something nice about Juan.

I really would, but the only thing I can come up with is he makes Cookie Roberts look smart.

Question. You ever said or did anything stupid, hurtful, or that you were ashamed of?
