Oh for goodness sake. A communion wafer discarded is "blasphemy?" That is so silly. You are taking offense at the wrong thing.

It is not merely a communion wafer. At the moment of the Consecration it BECOMES the Body of Jesus. He IS present. It is not as though they are treating merely a symbol this way, no they are taking the actual one and only Redeemer, and pretending to flush him down a toilet. This IS God.

In the first place, there was no communion wafer on the show. They were actors. There were no priests involved and nothing had been blessed. Secondly, an actor playing a priest ate the simulated wafer on the show.
The writer of this article was trying to inflame Catholics. He's the one who should be scorned.

A Bible flushed down the toilet? Furthermore, CAtholics believe the communion IS the body of Christ, so it's like saying you think flushing your God down the toilet is ok.
