My good FRiend Dix is in the hospital again, with his third bout with cancer. And a broken leg in the mix last year.
He could use your prayers.
You can send him a message at the hospital here.
Address it to: Doug Dixson
Room: 2035
Condolences to family and friends.
Slumber peacefully Dix, until that great day of the Lord.
I didn't know Dix too well, but it is a blessing to be painfree for sure and with the Father. But methinks a reunion is just around the corner, Biblically speaking....RAPTURE READY?
words and music by Mitch McVicker
Even in your roughest times you won't be overcome.
So when that ache bites your heart feel my love.
If you are wondering if I'm around
I have never left your side.
You are never by yourself.
You are not alone tonight.
Chorus
So now don't you let your heart be troubled.
The peace I bring to you is not of this world.
I set your mind at ease, I quiet down your soul.
I give you peace, don't let your heart be troubled.
I can dry your tear filled eyes.
I can hear your heavy heart.
So don't you be afraid tonight.
My light is shining through your dark.
If you're wondering where I'm at now,
in your despair I'm gonna be your hope.
I am always there, you're never ever by yourself.
You are not alone.
Chorus
I can still your swirling soul.
In your darkness my light grows.
Don't let your heart be troubled,
I give you peace.
May the Lord welcome you home with open arms Dix.
So sorry to hear the news. My prayers are with you.
I saw that while stuck in the airport for HOURS yesterday (wasn't the weather lovely?) and I got choked up. I have saved that page.
What a wonderful friend. I hope he knows how very, very much he is missed by us all.
Yeah, Dix either wrote that himself, or Barbara did. She knew how important he was to us.
I don't think that she has ever been to FR, but she really understood that he has a lot of friends here.
Folks that don't know about FR can't really grasp it properly.
And beyond the FR connection, we Houston folks have some of us formed
interpersonal relationships that will span our lifetimes.
Dix was a part of that.
A big one.
I truly believe he can see. I think God gives us all a "transition time." That's my private, fervent hope.
Shortly after my dad's death, my mother swears she saw him sitting on a bar stool, watching her as she washed a dish at the kitchen sink, and he was smiling. She turned away. When she looked again, he was gone. I believe he was really there. Plus, too many people have reported similar occurrences for sightings to be a fluke. And if I'm wrong, I sure don't want anyone to prove it because my theory comforts me. ;-)
Condolences to Dix's family and friends.
very well said.
It was given to comfort you Humidston.I beleive. My sister went into cardiac arrest 2 times and when I got the call they had brought her back but she was dying-she was 2 1/2 hours away from me.I heard a voice inside of me and it was her and she said she was tired and I said OK.Right away I heard another voice and it was my mother and she said Go to her now,My mother had passed away 2 years before this.I left and got there just in time for them to tell me to say my last goodbye's.I had a bottle of Holy water and made the sign of the cross on her forehead, she was in a comma. She grabbed my hand and made the sign of the cross on her heart and came out of it.That was 3 years ago and she is home and got 80 percent of her heart function back.
More prayers for Dix.
I can understand. Shortly after my mother's death, I felt her squeeze my hand one night. It was a delightful warm, tingly feeling that went up my arm and I definitely felt her squeeze my hand.
It turns out a couple of my sisters had similar experiences the same night and they were in different parts of the country.
I hope our Dix is among us in that way now to see how much we grieve his passing and what he meant to us all.
We celebrated Dix's life this afternoon.
Tears and joy were the standard fare.
We love ya, Dix.
I hope we did ya proud.
He is.
We had a brief, but comforting moment this afternoon.
I'm so sorry that he left us.
Yep.
He even prompted me today, as he always has.
Something looks kind of wrong with that guy....
