"The guy is like 150. Be hapy he lived that long. And PLEASE get it off of my Fox News. I want real news."
I think 98% of the people in FR would consider this story to be real news. The pope - whatever you might think of him personally, of the papacy in general, or of the Catholic Church - is a world figure. He is one of the major representatives of Western Civilization.

I agree, when a person gets older, the immune system can become weakened, and that person can become bed ridden or die from even something such as a common cold. It sounds almost like what happen with my mother
This is very serious time for the Pope

Looks like he won't make it. Wonder who the next Pope will be?

That post is going to be real popular here on this thread.
I'm not a Catholic but I can still be concerned for a human being's illness especially a world leader such as the Pope.
I think you'd better tend to your own knitting as far as being right with the Lord. John Paul II undoubtedly has that area taken well care of.

Well he ain't my papa. God is my Papa. I appreciate that you will miss him but why are you scared? Doctors will keep him from any pain he might have.

I already am crying. I fear this is it. I have a special fondness for this pope. I went from a youthful cafeteria Catholic to devout Catholic under his watch. I'm not ready to let him go.

HEY...IF you didn't want news about the Pope why did you click on this thread? If you don't want to watch it on FOX, change the channel. Don't mess with the people who care. We didn't ask you to come here...you picked this thread of your own free will. Enough

This is very serious time for the PopeHe certainly lived a long and fulfilling life. As for his papal duties, I think he's been nothing more than a figurehead of the Vatican for the last 5 years or so.

No one asked if you consider him your papa. Start a vanity if you have a gripe. Meanwhile, f*ck off.

This is real news. Consider what this man meant to the defeat of the Soviet empire. We non-Catholics owe him the very deepest gratitude and respect.
