Would you feel different if the parent was a guy buying alcohol for 17 year-old girls with the possible intent of sleeping with one of them.
What kind of a question is that?
I don't think ANYONE would be comfortable with a (guy) parent doing anything with 17 yo girls with the possible intent of sleeping with one of them.
The subject is buying beer for those who are underage, not trying to have sex with them.
So then, allow the kids to buy it for themselves.
Most kids drink anyway. Making it illegal has only encouraged binge drinking and sneakiness.
In my personal opinion, if you are old enough to die for your country, you are old enough to drink alcohol in it.

OK, first of all your statement has NOTHING to do with what I posted a response to. A mother bought beer for her daughter big flippin deal. How does a guy buying booze with the intent of sleeping with minors have to do with anything I say. If you want to post something off the mark like this, what if it was an adult WOMAN with the intent of sleeping with a 17 year old boy? That seems to be happening alot these days huh. Noone knows the intent of the mother in the article. My point was I don't see this as a big deal, it was a field trip, not a guy buying minor girls liquor to coerse them into sex. Jeez
