The infamous Ward Churchill, whom after the 9/11 atrocity called the victims “little Eichmanns,” is at it again. Churchill was welcomed with open arms last night to speak at the University of Hawaii, again under the rubric of “free speech.” He spewed more of his anachronistic, elitist bigotry:
Churchill reiterated his contention that people who function in investment and brokerage trading further economic policies in Third World countries that lead to mass misery and death.
According to Churchill’s insane logic, a janitor who cleans toilets at a brokerage firm is contributing to “mass misery and death,” and it is “justice” when terrorists murder a stock broker.
Thousands of Americans work in the “investment and brokerage trading” industry from all walks of life. Is Churchill so sure that all these people are guilty of sowing the seeds of “mass misery and death?” IBM and Disney offer health benefits to same-sex couples. Wait a minute; that's politically correct. These two companies are both publicly traded. Just how does IBM cause “mass misery and death?” By selling software that makes businesses run more efficiently? Just how does a person who holds maybe $2,000 in IBM stock cause “mass misery and death?” Just how does a trader at a small brokerage firm who makes $50 - $60K per year cause “mass misery and death?”
Has Professor Churchill looked in the dictionary lately? After all, the definition of the word “bigot” is “a person who has strong, unreasonable beliefs and who thinks that anyone who does not have the same beliefs is wrong,” or "one who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ." Need I remind university administrators, supposedly “educated” people, of these definitions?
Churchill’s illogic is anachronistic. Slowly but surely, members of the family of nations are turning towards free markets and democracy. Eastern Europeans threw off the yolk of Soviet-imposed socialism by choice. No one forced these people to choose democracy and capitalism. In fact, they chose democracy and capitalism through the democratic process. Yet Churchill yearns for the day where Pol Pot, Milosevic, Stalin, Lenin, and Mao murder a hundred million people to accomplish nothing more than social disintegration – not socialism. Churchill must have a, “First, we’ll kill all the stock brokers” bumper sticker on his car.
Would the University of Hawaii invite white supremacists to speak? Not on your life. Political correctness has spiraled out of control and has morphed into an Orwellian nightmare where the “Ministry of Peace” really means the “Ministry of Rationalizing Terrorism.” How far out of balance will we let our colleges go? College administrators are welcoming bigots and terrorists to their campuses. Next thing you know, Osama Bin Laden will be touring U.S. schools waving a “free speech” visa.
Yeah, the Russians grew all their anthrax and small pox in eggs just in case they wanted to exterminate the Eastern Europeans and Jews they hadn't already exterminated.
Those kids in his audience and who go to the anti-WTO riots and whatnot were not even born in the 60s or 70s.
Can't blame all this on the boomers.

Isn't that weasel speak for "the Jews are to blame?" His rhetoric is awfully close to what you normally hear from the Jihadists, Klansmen and Neo-Nazi pinheads regarding the Jews.
Doesn't this piece of dirt get over $90 thousand a year? Do you suppose he grabbed every check he got and that makes him part of the "corporate" types he rants against. Bet he didn't give his $ away. What a hypocrit and piece of crap he is! Wish his 15 minutes would be up so we can quit hearing from him!
The BlogNet is already uncovering Churchill's true identity, lack of academic credentials, lies he told to get his job, lack if Indian ancestry, etc. He's gonna be blogged right out of his cushy little job. Right on!
He also argued that the terrorists who carried out the attacks "manifested the courage of their convictions" and "when you push people around, some people push back. There is justice in such symmetry."

What I would like to know is who at the U. Hawaii invited him and why.
There are a lot of Bozos running their mouths off. The University has a constitutional right to tell these Bozos to take a hike.
The Univ. Hawaii and Univ. Colorado have effectively announced to the world that they are the Beavis and Butthead's of the academic world.
"Someone" should tie Ward Churchill around John Deans neck like a string tie.. with Skull and Crossbones clasp.. They are not really too far apart in their rhetoric..

One of my favorite sayings is: "never debate a fool, he'll bring you down to his level and beat you with experience".
The irony? Ward Churchill isn't an Indian--no more than you or I. Yet still, I heard one of the native Hawaiian activists yesterday say she supported Churchill because he "speaks of their liberation." I suppose she meant native Hawaiian liberation, but did she realize that Churchill is the enemy she needs liberation from? After all, he's not of the oppressed minority, but of the oppressing majority!

There are people who believe that third worlders are better off trudging behind a water buffalo pulling a plow, than working in a tennis shoe factory.

The fact that these people vote with their feet again and again means nothing to them.
