Now consultants are confused with the Swiftees, who hammered Kerry for being a traitor after giving aid and comfort to the enemy and calling his comrades war criminals on the basis of the Winter Soldiers' testimony, that couldn't be corrroborated.

I try to avoid reading Dowd's columns as a whole. It strikes me like renting an apartment real cheap, on the ground floor of an outhouse. And I had this issue covered both earlier and more honestly than Dowd, in "AARP, Social Security and Coots," posted here on FR.

The "Swifties" are a group of military veterans, who beyond any shadow of a doubt, served their country, went in harms way, and distingished themselves in the service of their country. Some are decorated war heros. If anything, they've EARNED the right to be heard. They've EARNED their credibility the old fashioned way, by putting their life on the line for their country.

And, Maureen Dowd, their chief critic: she's done what for who? and at what risk to her life, liberty, or property?

Hell, it's like a whore calling a virgin bride "indecent". Enough said.
