Did anybody catch the buxom bikini-clad roller skating babes that sat on his lap at the pool? And his thoroughbred horses? Not a stupid man, but meaner than snot, carnal as hell, and apparently as rich as some of his televangelist cronies.

Bump for tonight.

A real piece of work. I never had him on TV, but one used to be able to stream him on the net.

He was an interesting guy, but he seemed to be just about the money the few times I saw his show. It was funny as heck when he started painting and selling his paintings.

Gosh. I got dizzy watching him just a few minutes at a time walking back and forth, back and forth across the stage and to the greaseboard. What was that song his wife sang that they talked about - something like "Stomp Something for Jesus" or something like that? He confused me, so I changed channels as I surfed on by.

Once in a while I'll see him on TV, but once Melissa starts to sing I have to change the channel. His ranting and raving were difficult to put up with but her singing was definitely intolerable.

LOL! Remember, I did not "buy" into his stuff. Again, after about 1990, I lost interest and no longer watched his stuff.

The song I remember was "I Wanna Know". :-)

"I didn't "buy" into his stuff, but it was entertaining. "

I watch infomercials for the same reason!

Does anyone else think that Michael Savage stole most of his act from Dr. Scott?

Too bad. As we barely get AM radio here, the last time I listened to him was on shortwave. I used to listen to him a lot back in the '70's. He was pretty entertaining.

I remember in the late 1980s Dr. Scott read a message which remarked that he was the "Rush Limbaugh of religion". Dr. Scott looked around the room in his cowboy hat and cigar, "now just who is this Rush Limbaugh guy? If somebody's stealing my act I wanna know about it"

Just the other day I told my mom about Michael Savage. I told her he's the Gene Scott of Political Talk Radio.

Great teacher!

I liked this quote from him:

"Iraq is a threat to the world," he said in a 2003 speech posted on his Web site. "So kick the hell out of 'em, George."

I heard he started out as an economics professor somewhere. When he took over the church from the previous pastor who had started a television station here in Hartford in the early 1970s, the church was burdened with hundreds of thousands of dollars in "trust" debts. I had elderly clients who had invested their life savings and pensions in these bogus "trusts". Gene Scott could have walked away from all of these debts since the church was in California and these people were in Connecticut and yet he paid them all in full. I did not like some of his "theology" but his integrity in this matter was exemplary. He had good music on his program too. Only Bible study with blues.

His quasi-theological ramblings were truly hilarious. For pure comedic value, there were only a few equals, such as Robert Tilton and Ernest Angely. Much more entertaining than the "reality" rubbish being churned out now.

I first saw him on cable in Ca. he looked like he had been dragged through a tanning-bed tunnel then, freckles, moles and lesions all competing for space on his well-worn face; saw him again just the other morning surfing Comcast's desertscape late, late at night.

He seemed to be the master of unabashed aplomb.

Preachers and doctors wear the same dirt robes when the lid is finally closed.

I though I was the only one who actually watched him.
He was very entertaining to watch. Does everyone remember him back in 83-84 sitting in this recliner and barking orders? Lately I seen this Young lady singing. Is that his wife? I think shes good looking If (Can someone can post a picture?) But cannot sing. Bye ...
