"Two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half-full of cocaine and a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers, also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls... and I was still bored to tears after five minutes with this guy..."

He had to do himself what decades of drug abuse failed to do.

Living and Dying in Las Vegas and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas are the two movie titles. Wrong again! You're thinking of Leaving Las Vegas.

Prayers for Gonzo and his Family. Read all of his books and loved them. Later realized he was totally wrong and whacked, but very talented in his wit. He was a very troubled man. Praying for comfort for his son and family.
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighting Troops

That's his enduring attitude in this new age of darkness: a lot more loathing than fear. " ...Sayonara and good riddance....AMEN!!!

Sad if true, I like I believe many here, at one time was a big fan. While I have come to vehemently disagree with him, suicide is such a tragic end.
There have been days that I did not want to go on, but there are other people that you live for and, eventually, you realize that life is good, and continue.
Prayers for him and his family.

Hell's Angels remains one of my favorites to this day. A classic.
I'm still trying to find a Vincent Black Shadow.

Bush's fault again?
Already such speculation on DU. The General Discussion forum has a thread titled, "What dirt did Hunter Thompson have on the Bush family?"....
To: ScottFromSpokane
Yes. You asked, therefore I am not terrible to say it.
