Abortion hitting social security hard
Business Reform Magazine via WorldNetDaily ^ | 2/16/05 | Steve Marr

Abortion may have set America up to implode.

Consider this: As politicians scramble to posture on Social Security reform, a key element is being ignored: the effect of abortion on the SS shortfall.

Since Roe vs. Wade legalized abortion, creating an abortion industry, we’ve seen 45 million unborn babies aborted in this country.

An estimated 17 million of them would be contributing to the economy today, paying taxes, and paying into Social Security; but they will not be there.

In 2025, when Social Security is projected to be in real trouble, I wonder if anyone will stop to think about the missing persons who might have averted it? They alone could not make up the entire shortfall, but they would’ve helped immensely.

For those of us who believe abortion is the taking of an innocent life, the tragedy is not financial, but the lives that are being snuffed out.

We agree that Social Security was founded on a faulty premise, the taxing of current workers to pay benefits to workers already retired. Clearly, this money has never been “saved” for the future, but spent by the government on other programs.

Politicians can scream and posture all they like, but the fundamental reality is that the program has been heading for bankruptcy for many years, only no one would admit it until now. And abortion is helping to speed up the inevitable shipwreck.

Like the Bible says, we will be reaping what we have sown.

On the other hand, it is also 17 million less liberal voters.

That is so sad to think about it in those terms. The people who did away with their children for the sake of convience will not have those children around to help in their old age. What a perpective. It makes you really think about what abortion really is. In the end, does abortion really make things more convient, or does it just delay facing consequences?

I *hate* when SS is tied in with abortion. To do so misses the whole point of why both are wrong for their own reasons.

I don't think social security is such a bad idea. We live in a wealthy country. I don't think there is anything wrong with the goverment doing certain things. Do you really want to live in a country where the government only builds the roads? Let's be honest at least.

I would not mind a federal government that only provides national security and passes the minimum of laws needed to protect people (not from themselves).

Grin, sometimes people need to be protected from themselves though. Have you ever shot yourself in the foot? I know I have.

Do you really want to live in a country which relies on a failing system of redistribution of wealth to satisfy the entitlements of able-bodied people who refuse to work any longer simply because they've reached a certain age?

Let's be honest.

Underpopulation is a serious threat, and abortion has certainly contributed to it. That's one of the reasons that Europe is fast becoming Eurabia: not enough young native Europeans to support the older ones. Of course, what they recruited to fill the void was the proverbial nest of vipers (but vipers that still have lots of children).

Underpopulation = government encouraged two children per family because of speculated 'population explosion.' SO WHO'S TO BLAME?

No, I want the government to defend our borders and from our enemies both foreign and domestic. Then they can build roads.

The fed doesn't even need to build roads. Just national security, international treaties, and that interstate commerce thing.

For everything else, it's up to the states themselves to decide.

I'm absolutely against abortion. But abortion is wrong because it's immoral to murder babies, not because there are fewer slaves to work the gubmint plantation.

Absolutely. At one point, IIRC, certain agencies (UN) were encouraging below replacement rate families.

Would elimination an equal number from the opposite end of the age spectrum be fiscally offsetting?

Let's not forget China, the goverment all but mandated abortion as a form of population control. It's common knowledge now that they have a serious shortage of females and way too many males.

What does this tell me? That no one gets away with nothin, and I mean NO ONE!
