George Bush will be visiting Mainz this coming Wednesday. A large anti-Bush demonstration has been registered to take place on Wednesday afternoon. The local authorities estimate anywhere between 6 and 15 thousand demonstrators. www.bushinmainz.de or www.bushnotwelcome.de Two blogs which deal with German-American issues Medienkritik Online and David’s Medienkritik along with the local chapter of the Republicans Abroad are planning a peaceful demonstration in Mainz. The event will take place at the Suedbahnhof on February 23, 2005 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (local time). The purpose is to demonstrate German and American support of President Bush and the German American Friendship. The main demonstration will be taking place across town. I like it, but it won't make the news because it is pro-Bush.
I already have German TV channels accompaning us. We also are invited to participate in the political talk shows that evening. (Here in Germany of course)

Why? Because pro-Bush, pro-America demonstrations are hardly the norm.

Keep up the good work! Actually most Americans would love to be considered friends of Eropeans but there are so many flipped out leftists over there in media and government that we wonder sometimes.

I have had the pleasure of being on political talk shows over here. The lefties are in charge, the media is government controlled and the reporting could not be more biased. We do have friends over here, they need to become more vocal. I hope that there is a good turn-out. Sometimes you just have to take the first step and others will step up to the plate too.

we will be interviewed by ZDF, SWR, HR3 and ARD. The Press Speaker of th Republicans Abroad will be partaking in a ZDF Spezial which should be aired after 7 pm. They have not yet told us what time they plan to air the show, but it will be Wednesday night.
Good job! I would have loved to come, but I´m sitting on the campus of Hamburg Uni right now.
