For Your Viewing Pleasure: Happy Endings for "Middle America"

Edited on 02/19/2005 11:36:23 PM PST by Jim Robinson. [history]

With the help of some really magnanimous people -- most specifically the generous and talented Jeffers M. Dodge -- I managed to revisit my Unspun ways.

In 2004, a posse of Hollywood stars came out en masse to lend their hip, fabulous selves to the presidential campaign of John F. Kerry, confident that their added (and, frankly, much needed) sparkle would ensure the defeat of incumbent President George W. Bush. Did Shiny Objects indeed distract The People? Post election, and post a rather ignominious defeat, their standard-bearer Michael Moore stated that they were indeed victorious -- that they had successfully "prevented a Bush landslide." Was that really the sole outcome? In other words, when they returned from their forays into flyover country did they find that their thrones had maintained their elevation in their absence?
Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you! Most credit goes to Jeffers Dodge, tho', who edited it, and is hosting it. (And my friend Bjorn who shot it, but if one tells him that he gets all swell-headed, LOL.)

GREAT PIECE!! Very professional looking. Are you in the film industry?

A couple of recommendations:
* "camera" is misspelled.
* I could only hear about half of what was being said due to the music AND the traffic noises. I'd rather listen to the traffic noises alone rather than both.

Although I'm a native Texan, I used to live in Southern California (Burbank, then Glendale) many years ago. Your video made me homesick for SoCal once again! In spite of all its liberalism, there's just something about California, especially Southern California, that I'll always love. It's in my heart to stay.

You're right! Eek! (I'd let him know but he labored hard, and for free... maybe tomorrow...)

The issue was my Lavalier being the sole mic, competing witrh the street. I lost a crew (shotgun) member at the last moment. It's not the music. I tried.
