Wow, there is a God!

This would be great news, however, the loss of Cheney would be great. He really is the Greatest Vice this Nation has ever had! (No pun intended you lurking dims)

Once again we have the Condi 2008 people speculating on another scenario that will put her in close proximity to getting the Republican nomination for President.
How many times must it be pointed out that this woman has never held any elected office and we don't know where she stands on anything.
Even if this scenario were to pan out, being Vice President still does not make her Presidential timber. Comparing this to Gerald Ford doesn't wash either. Ford was an elected official and was the Republican Minority leader in Congress for many years. He was a know quantity.
Condi by comparison is an unknown quantity on almost every important issue.
Yet most of you are willing to run not walk to promote her candidacy without having the slightest idea of what her views are about any of the issues.
Does anyone know for sure she's even a Conservative?
Also this country may have come a long way but is it ready for a Woman President and more precisely a Black Woman President?
Where will Condi Rice's support come from as she has no natural base or constituency and don't even think that because she is Black that will translate into getting a bigger percentage of the Black vote because that won't happen. Blacks will look at her and consider her a Female Uncle Tom and "Uppity" and will not support her in any great numbers for precisely those reasons and the fact she is a Republican.
The chances of Condi Rice ever being President are slim and none.
The only far out scenario that would put her as President would be if she was appointed Cheney's successor and George Bush was assassinated.

Absolute nonsense. Can you imagine the left painting Condi as a closet Nun?

Or others wondering who is going to be invited to the Oval Office for lunch and munch?

Anyone can speculate. This is proof of point.

She's pro-abort, which makes her unqualified. End of story.

I FULLY support the idea of Vice-President Cheney retiring. Whether Condi Rice would make the best VP after him, I don't know. But I sure respect that gal, and I see no reason not to vote for her in 2008 if she's put on the ballot.

This rumor has been floating around since the last term. I'm not convinced.

They have been floating this rumor for four years. They keep changing the names, but the gist is constant and aggravating.

Beltway rumor mongers are far too numerous.

She will stay as Secretary of State.

I question whether it is wise to make her Sec. of State if this is truly in the works. As a platform for a presidential run, it still concerns me that she has never run for public office. In addition, the harsh treatment she received during her confirmation is likely to be trebled were she to go through confirmation as VP.

Whatever one thinks of Condi, she has no track record as a political candidate and that should worry some. It does worry me.

Doug from Upland had predicted this before the election when there was talk of dumping Cheney.

I love Mr. Cheney as our wonderful Vice President, but if she slipped into the Vice Presidency, it would be sweet.

If not, I'm still thrilled VP Cheney is there, he's probably the best ever, but if his health is too much an issue, I want him to do what is best for himself.

Hmmmm, where have I heard this theory before? Oh yes, that's right: I've been suggesting this for about what -- three years now?
