The FAIR website (click on Immigration in Your Backyard - What is it Doing to Your State) shows the impact of illegal immigration on each individual state. It's not good, and will only get worse until existing immigration laws are actually enforced.

Those are old numbers.

The equivelent of 64 fully loaded commercial airline passenger jets full of illegal migrants cross into the United States from Mexico every day.

One must ask why.

I have only heard of one answer that anywhere comes close to making sense.

The way it looks now, Hitlery anticipated the ranks of the GOP would oppose Bush on this and she's poised to move in for the kill.

Hitlery and her not well looking "husband" were masters of triangulation and appropriating opposition positions if they thought they were vote getting even if they personally did not like them.

Hitlery is still SDS-Days of Rage mindset....completely unrepentant but she knows how to fake it.

Come to think of it...I bet she's a pro at that ..lol

INVASION - Come on in. No shots will be fired to stop you. If you get here, American citizens will support you, you'll get free medical care, free schooling, everything else free.

That is the message our government is sending to Mexico. Must be revving up for the next member of the Bush dynasty, George P. Bush. Has anyone asked what his qualifications are except that he is half Mexican? Wondering....

I descend from many "founding" families. The lives of many of my grandparents are intertwined with the histories of Plymouth, Andover and Nantucket, MA, Hampton, NH, Blue Hill & Enfield, ME, Newark, NJ & New Haven, CT. Many saw needs within their communities & rather than looking to the Crown to provide, they rolled up their sleeves.

Rather than adopting the language of the land they had immigrated to, they kept the language of the lands of their birth. At times interpretors were needed, but generally they weren't. The immigrants interacted mostly with other immigrants who spoke the same language they did.

Centuries later, more of my "founding" ancestors arrived. The histories of Kewauskum & Mount Morris, WI name some of my great, great-grandparents. By then the United States was a nation, though Wisconsin would not become a state for several years. They wanted to make sure their children received an education. Rather than looking to the government of the territory or the nation the territory was part of, they put aside some of their land & hired a teacher or became teachers themselves. They generally kept to the languages of the nations of their birth.

Centuries apart, there was little difference in their activities after they arrived. They came to build lives for themselves & their families. In the process, they helped build some of the superstructure of their communities.

My third generation grandmother was born over 50 years after her predecessors had immigrated, yet as a child she spoke German at home & in church. Wisconsin had hundreds of German newspapers at the turn of the century.

Norwegian was the primary language spoken by many in Mount Morris. I haven't delved into the primary sources for the town, so do not know when that changed. My great aunts & uncles were bilingual, so I would have to assume it lasted well into the 20th century.

So where am I going with all of this? I'm trying to interject a little bit of history into history. It's just part of the history of two very small towns, smack dab in the middle of America, but I'm sure that their history is similar to many other small towns in various places, all across the nation. A whole lot of people who spoke only the "wrong" language contributed to the building of this nation.

All of the people I've written about here arrived before the massive immigration of the late 19th & early 20th century. They were farmers, weavers, tanners, shoemakers, preachers, innkeepers & blacksmiths. They were just everyday folks & I'm sure most of them were too tired at the end of every day to sit & examine their navels about their expectations about what the society they were helping to build owed them.

IMHO, we as a nation went wrong when the expectations of the Americans changed, when we were told we must look to look to government to do things for us...

I'm going to go back to my 3rd generation, German speaking grandmother. High school was several miles away in town. When Grandma's brother decided not to go, Granny was not allowed to go either, as her father wouldn't trust her with the team & it was too far to walk, especially in winter over unplowed roads.

Education has stopped being something which children desired. Instead, education became a birthright & the government was going to provide it, whether the child wanted it or not. Laws were passed & made it so. I am among the first generation subjected to the mandatory indoctrination camps, but it's okay, it was for our own good...

The problem is not with the newest round of immigrants, whether legal or illegal. The problem is with our current government structure. Rather than people having expectations for themselves, they seem to have expectations for everyone else.

It is translated into the relationship between employers & employees. We don't like the relationship, we expect the employer to change. If that doesn't work out the way we want, we tell our government to make the employer change. The employer takes the jobs elsewhere, our government is to blame.

Are "American" companies are owned by America? Or do you think they own America?...

As far as what you wrote about entry level jobs... Born towards the end of the baby boom, the first time I looked for a job the unemployment rate was in the double digits. For every job opening, there were many, many applicants. Also, I was discriminated against for my race. The liberal response to me saying that is always some garbage about my learning how other's have felt in the past.

The gift given to me & my peers by "the Greatest Generation" is many fold, some of it good, much of it bad. I was not the only one of my peers who were unable to afford to live in the community I grew up in. More of us could not affords it, than there were those that could. Interest rates were in the double digits at the time & that affected the cost of rent, so please don't assume me to say my expectations included home ownership. Crime rates were higher then too. Many of the criminals were some of my peers. We didn't so much import them... No, they were one of those gifts brought aboard by the "Greatest Generation" that I spoke about earlier.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you, the "American dream" in the way you put it is a myth. It is not a birthright, not for you, not for me, not for anyone.

If not for birth control & abortion, population growth would have been home grown. Each of them would have been part of what you consider to be the class deserving of the dream, but how real do you think it would have been for them if their opportunities were the same as those being realized by immigrants of every stripe?

Our Founding Fathers gift to us was a good framework, nothing more. It is up to us, each of us, each generation of us to defend it or lose it. If we are out numbered, out activated at the polls by our fellow citizens who lean towards Marxist ideals instead of American ideals, as has been true in previous generations of Americans (see gifts given by the "Greatest Generation"), what we individually and collectively can accomplish is lessened, no matter how many of us there are.

Hitlery's sealed Wellesley thesis was a paean to Saul Alinsky radical counseling, "Tell any lie for power."

She and traitor-rapist42 expedited citizenship for a million new Democrat voters in time for the 1996 election.

The only time the Clinton copresidency got tough on immigration was April 2000.

Thanks for the comments. You covered quite a bit of ground there. I appreciate much of what you said. What the nation did during it's formative years is rather difficult to model on at a time when the society is as advanced as ours is.

I relize that we've always had certain 'islands' of concentrated foreign nationals. I'm not dead set against some of that. I am dead set against pulling in 25% of our nation's population from one nation in a little over 25 years, at a time when our society is as advanced as it is, especially in light of it being a criminal act.

I would wager that your family came here in a legal manner. They followed the rules of the day, and I respect that. People who come to this nation legally today, in numbers that can assimilate over a reasoned period of time, are welcome.

We have enough people in this nation today that are illegaly here, that we could mirror a whole Los Angeles class region. Our nation is impacted by this. It is problematic at this time. It's going to triple within ten years.

This nation is a melting pot. I believe it should be somewhat representative of other coultures around the world. I do not believe that as a whole it should become any of them. It for heck-fire sure shouldn't become 40% of one of them in a little over 25 years.

I believe that we agree on quite a bit, from what I've gleaned from your comments. I do beleive we have a different take on the overall impact of what is taking place today. While I understand where you are coming from, the scope of what is taking place today is where I have to part ways with you. This is simply too much, too soon, for me to sign on to. It is also illegal.

Take care.
