The television show, 24, contained a storyline about agents seeking to stop a Muslim terrorist sleeper cell from attacking the United States. Despite the fact that the show had featured non ethnic bad guys as well as those from other ethnic groups in the past, the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) accused the Fox Network of stereotyping Muslims and helping to escalate Islamophobia throughout the United States. After a meeting last month between CAIR and Fox execs, the network agreed to read a disclaimer before the offending show was aired. The following was read at the beginning of the program:
Hi. My name is Kiefer Sutherland. And I play counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer on Foxs 24. I would like to take a moment to talk to you about something that I think is very important. Now while terrorism is obviously one of the most critical challenges facing our nation and the world, it is important to recognize that the American Muslim community stands firmly beside their fellow Americans in denouncing and resisting all forms of terrorism. So in watching 24, please bear that in mind.
It could have been worse. Fox could have pulled the program and replaced the Muslim sleeper cell with a cell of disgruntled white Americans from some militia group in Georgia. But reading the disclaimer as it was worded was bad enough. . . . .

I stopped watghing it after they caved.
Terrorists. They give us planes in towers, we give them disclaimers. But in real life, we put the boot in their a$$, it's the Amercian way.
Memo to ethnic whiners: WE DON'T CAIR!
""THE American Muslim community stands firmly beside their fellow Americans in denouncing and resisting all forms of terrorism.??""

"it is important to recognize that the American Muslim community stands firmly beside their fellow Americans in denouncing and resisting all forms of terrorism"
PUH-LEZE!! I know some Muslims are beside us in the war on terror but I have seen NOTHING to even remotley indicate that "the American Muslim community" is denouncing and resisting crap.
It frustrates me that they are vague about the ideology of the family, though. "Islam," it's OK to say the name. I never have a problem with equivocating. Making the uncle a true victim, for example. I don't mind the portrayal of innocent Muslims, I just get frustrated when the villains are not. Of course, the real plan is more than just Islamist hatred of the West, but we'll discover that later.
Well, if its okay to lie in the service of Allah, why is it not okay for Fox to air a disclaimer with their fingers crossed? But I do get the idea that soon our airwaves will be full of legal disclaimers. Like, "No animals were hurt in the fimiling of this movie" and "any resemblance of persons in this show to any person real or imaginary is purely coincidental". We don't always believe them, but the lawyers get paid for their support.
Nope that was done on Sept 11 2001
always remember
Let Muslims be Muslims, just not on American soil.
No offense.
Waiting for a remake of "Tora,Tora,Tora" where attacks are conducted by white males in right-wing militia group or fundamentalist Christians.
I think we should demand that they also produce a piece that Serbians aren't all war criminals, something or other about Mexicans and that the Simpsons is not real. Except for the episode where the secret society sings the song "Who Controls the World? We do! We Do!" That one was real.
"The American Muslim community stands firmly beside their fellow Americans (liberals and leftists who hate America) in denouncing and resisting all forms of terrorism." (Such as the terrorism caused by the evil Bush Imperialists and their Zionist Allies!)
So in watching 24, (and recognizing the pathetic terrorist-supporting CAIR organization's hissey fit for the taquiyyah-ridden, Islam whitewash that it is) please bear that in mind.
I want a disclaimer that White guys aren't really bad people. The propensity of Hollyweird changing plot lines to make White guys the bad guys is unfair and I'm going to whine. LOL
