Voter turnout in New York City got a big boost in the last presidential election from immigrants, according to a study released yesterday. Nearly 80 percent of the immigrants voted for Democrat John Kerry, the study found, noting that more than 73 percent are registered Democrats. But 66 percent of Russian immigrants crossed party lines nearly 80 percent are registered Democrats and voted for President Bush, the study found.

"BAM"
OUCH!!!
:0)
Most of these people are voting illegally.
Just look at the specifics of the demographic she cites. I don't believe it.
I guess the GOP should work on getting the Russian vote.
I thought my post made it obvious that I didn't believe it either?
Does anyone buy this?>>>>>>>
NOPE !!! Notice they're a *member* of "La Raza" also.

LAIC is a Member of:
The New York Immigration Coalition
The Hispanic Federation
The National Council of La Raza
NY Jobs with Justice
Why does it seem that these "immigrant" issues often lead back to La Raza, the hispanic equivalent of Stormfront.
"Is this country great or what, come here illegally, give your false ID and you to can choose a President of the United States."
8 of the 9/ll hijackers were registered to vote.
Notice how the MSM is still trying to morph legal and illegal into the same concept.
Not to me. Sorry. I thought that "Staten Island isn't really much of a community for 'poor hispanics'. " meant you thought that any hispanics there would have to have money. Meaning the demographic made sense. My mistake??
More lies and damn lies.
Just itching to get banned, are you? :)
Looks like "La Raza" is everywhere.
No.
I was merely point out that this line:
"The study said the average immigrant voter was a churchgoing female Hispanic who graduated college and makes $50,000 a year."
Applied to her and her husband.
Sorry about that.
Okay, I get it. Thanks. Sheesh. Taking care of a 2 1/2 yo boy can make your brain slip gears.
Is it really that hard to believe 80% recent immigrants legally entitled to vote choose the democrats?
What plain ol' fashioned patriotism & "rugged individualism" (characterizing immigrants of the past) remaining in this country resides among republican - independent voters. I'd be surprised if one out of five legally entering this country these days buys into such values.
Those days are long gone for me thankfully!
Mine were girls!
;0)
Wow, your right. I should take everything the MSM says at face value. Dan Blather was obviously right when he said he had "original" documents showing W was given special treatment in the TANG. All the experts who said the documents were fakes must be wrong.
Your "point" is drivel.
The article didn't say anything about illegal immigration.
Because the MSM will not cover illegal immigration.
It did say that some immigrants had been here for 11 or more years.
Yep. And my answer is, SO? When I was recruiting for the Army in Washington state, I ran into immigrants that wanted to join. One had been in the country for 17 years. The fact that he had not come in legally meant he could not join. Or, are you implying that just being here for 11 years makes you all warm and fuzzy?
There is such a thing as legal immigration.
Well, golly gee, I never figured that out. I mean, my great grandparents came from Germany and had to prove where they were from, jump through hurdles & what not. But, I never figured that coming into the country the way the law requires meant there was legal immigration.
But, that means nothing anyway. Immigrants aren't allowed to vote here. Citizens are allowed to vote.
Thus far you have shown the unbalanced part, but you are seriously lacking on the fair.
>>>"Nearly 80 percent of the immigrants voted for Democrat John Kerry,"
First, I don't believe those numbers.
Second, I hope the Republican leadership is reading the possible results of granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
We should be granting citizenship to people who will benefit our economy and to people who want to be free... not to people who want to be cared for through the largesse of government-provided welfare.
But, why do we have to say these obvious things?
Hoppy
Here is a breakdown from the print copy of the NY Post:
73.5% registered as Dems
12.1% registered as Repubs
79.9% voted for Kerry
18.3% voted for Bush
20.4% are white
22.9% are black
33.4% are Latino
17.3% are Asian
