Here's a way Jeb Bush may be able to save Terry Schiavo: Open an investigation into the possible assault that led to her comatose condition. Have the state pay for her maintenance to "preserve the evidence" and pay for language therapy for her so she can tell us what she knows about how she got into the coma. It struck me that the reason her husband wants her dead might be because he's afraid of what she'll say if she recovers. I don't see how a judge could possibly deny the state the right to preserve evidence of a serious assault.
Hope she's not dead yet.
They are neutral. If somebody pings you, it usually means they are calling you to a thread that they think you might be interested in reading (and possibly commenting on). You don't have to do anything though. You can totally ignore it if you want to (most of the time though, I think curiosity kills the cat, and we succumb to the temptation of another post/thread at FR).
Also called LSM.
Dinos= Democrats In Name Only (don't know any of them)
Glenn Poshard, Democrat ticket gubernatorial candidate for Illinois in 1998, ran to the right of his opponent, King George the RINO, on every issue. He'd probably be considered a DINO.
And the unacknowledge winner of the 2004 Washington state gubernatorial election could also be called a "Dino".
Good to know!
Goodnight Terri prayer!
"There's been a stay of execution issued by Greer"
Not so according to this--

What did I not address? What DO her EEGs say?
God help you if you die of starvation...that would be poetic justice. STARVATION. Death Cultists are everywhere...several stripes to choose from.
Then she won't die a painful death if she has no brain activity?
So many compassionate conservatives talking about how she is going to die a painful death, which is the reason for my question. Thank you for setting me straight.

Still on the same page. I appreciate your posts and am glad you are on FR.
O.k., like I said previously, even if she is "brain dead" and functioning on reflexes, isn't there some other way to deal with Terri, other than starving her to death?
Can Terri do eye gaze?
Why not make up a simple eye gaze board with Yes No and a few other choices, actually with all the media and public knowledge of this case it is strange no on in the OT field has slipped her parents a board and how to use it.
If she can eye gaze yes and no consistantly then she can speak for herself.
This was done in the case of a Brit girl who was institutionalized with severe CP and her OT wanted to adopt her.
My son turns his head to his right for YES and left for NO.
He also uses eye gaze with a communication book we had made up twenty years ago.
He has a voice mounted system for interaction with the General Public when out.
But if Terri could consistanly turn her head for yes or no or use a basic eye gaze board.
No excuses on what her husband will allow either. Mom and Dad can learn simple skills and incorperate them during visits unbeknownst to others.
I find it crazy that things are not being tried on the sly.
I know her husband is a jerk but Teri must move forward and things can be done without anyones knowledge or approval.
Hi Heisenberg, this is the thread that never ends!! Yes, we'll agree to disagree as to the life status of Terri. I don't like your soldier analogy too much, because it's not analogous. If a soldier's brains were blown up, that soldier would be dead (literally - 6 feet under type dead). But, Terri is alive and breathing (big difference). Now, even if you are right and Terri is "brain dead" relying on reflexes alone, what should we do with her? Hmmmm, uh, let's starve her to death so Michael can marry his mistress, yes, that's a good idea. And right after that, I'll petition the Court to starve to death any and all who are (I swear) brain dead, starting with my pet dog Abigail.
I will address you later tonight. Am at work now.
