Vanity: Please help with my kid's science fair project
T MInus Four

Posted on 02/17/2005 6:49:41 PM PST by T Minus Four

My seventh grader is doing a science fair project involving "handedness". She needs a larger sample for her data. If you would like to help, please do the following: clasp your hands together with your fingers intertwined. Report which thumb is on top and if you are right or left handed. Thanks for your help! Standing outside the grocery store didn't work, even with tootsie rolls as a thank you. People were too afraid we were selling something!

I'm Right-handed...........,p. Left thumb was on top.

I can even say that trying it the other way felt uncomfortable to me.

Left & left.

For fun, I may survey freinds and family and give an update in the next few days.

Good luck!

Right-handed, and my right thumb is on top. But I gotta be honest with you -- I had to try it both ways and think about it before figuring out which was more natural.

It's hard to do something without thinking about it when you're trying not to think about it. LOL.

Clearly us right-handed right-thumbed folks are more right than any of the others. Right-Right is Right!

Make sure everyone understands they are to have their fingers intertwined. I just went to my husband, who is left-handed. When I first asked him, he clasped his hands together and said "left thumb." BUT his fingers were not intertwined. When he was told to intertwine them, the answer was "right thumb."
