Raleigh Feb. 16 State Senate Republicans voted together, Wednesday, to reject an attempt by Senate Democrats to reverse a Supreme Court decision that might affect the still-unresolved outcome of the 2004 election for state Superintendent of Public Instruction. Senate Bill 82 makes certain election challenges subject to General Assembly review and strips courts of any jurisdiction over such elections.
The bill also attempts to extend new election rules into the past. The controversial bill was rushed to the Senate floor, passed by the Senate Democrat majority and immediately sent to the state House.

Time to
call your state House members today, and let them know you want the rules for the 2004 elections to stay the same and they were.
No changing the rules of the game, after the game is over and the teams and crowd have gone home, just because you don't like the ref's call!If they want to change the rules, than it should be for future elections.
And we don't need the General Assembly to set itself up as a court to decide who won any election to itself, taking away your right to have a court decide whether proceedures are legal.

In South, the voting rights of conservatives are now violated. The bill would allow RATS to steal elections by mere accusation of voter irregularity. Interesting that NC RATS don't want courts to determine disputed elections. The courts in NC must be quite conservative.

Under the new bill, would the race for Secretary of Agriculture be decided by the General Assembly?

No, that race is settled. Mr. Troxler was certified, and has taken office.
