Well I guess there is something to be said for getting up in the middle of the night and having a look around out front. Alright, so I was out having a a cig. I do that every so often.
About 1:30 a.m. I'm standing out in my driveway leaning up against the house and I had a feeling like I'm being watched. When I go out at night I usually think to be alert. It's late at night. You don't want to just walk into a bad situation.
Then I look across the street and I see what I think is my neighbors car door open. It was hard to see so I stared and adjusted my eyes but still could not tell. I sure was not going to walk over there.
So, I went into the garage and pulled out my flashlight and came back out. With the light I could see the door was definately open. And I still have this feeling like someone is watching me.
No way am I going to confront someone so I headed in to call the local police. Just as I was making my way back to the house a dog not too far down the street starts barking like someone is in the neighborhood that should not be there.
Well, not much more to this story. No dramatic ending. I never saw who it was. The police showed up and are now cruising the neighborhood. I figure my timing was such that I saved my neighbor from having is stereo pulled from his car.
Lucky timing on the nicotine urge.
I always take "Mr Kimber" or "Mr Glock" along for the walk or smoke, personally. I hate walking into a bad situation of any kind.
I'm fixing dinner.
I'm going to get some pie.
My late night neighborhood watch always includes three guys. Mr.Smith Mr.Wesson and me.
Make mine cherry.
I have it's big brother. ;)
I'm "working"
Sounds like your neighbor owes you a carton of cigarettes.
How are feeling these days?
I like to take a rampant pony with me.
About a half an hour ago (2:00 am California time) I hear a noise outside.
One of my cars is in the driveway, so I figure it's someone messing with it.
I grab my D Cell Maglite and my Beretta 92 - 1 in the pipe and 14 more in the mag.
I open the front door, and see some vagrant digging thru the cans and bottles that I had put out on the curb earlier (It's "garbage day" tomorrow, or technically, today)
I ask him what he's doing, and he says "recycling"
I tell him 2:00 AM is not the best time to be doing that, and it's also a good way to get capped.
He said "sorry" and walked off.
The 18 volt Ryobi did ok.
Agreed. It's ALWAYS a bad thing to show up for a gun fight empty handed.
Fer sure
Dang nosy smokers. Always making it harder to rob someone because of our puffin'.....
;-)
Not me. I'm real quite when I'm out front late at night. I could sneak up on a mouse. I want to see them before they see me.
Heh! You and me both. Sometimes I get a good sock to the arm for being quiet 'round the Wife and it scares her.
Of course, with the clouds of smoke around you and I....
