Great line:
The hysterical edge makes you wonder if writers for newspapers and magazines and professors in J-schools don't have a serious case of freedom envy.

The MSM are a bunch of whining "girly-men". They can't endure the same level of scrutiny that they place on "evil corporations", "greedy capitalist", and Republican politicians. What a collection of hypocrites.

Sounds pretty serious!! Bloggers have been bringing in the BIGGUNS to the News World while the MSM has been toeing the political lines!!
This has happened so much that CBS desperately tried to CREATE their own BIGGUN, only to be caught red handed by the Bloggers and they have BECOME the BIGGEST BIGGUN of 2004!!
Could it be that the MSM is a part of the Socialist Elite Movement to undermine the US Constitution and replace it with the European Socialist Constitution?

Are we ready to forgive Peggy for her apostasy on the inaugural speech now?
Of course, she failed to mention Free Republic. But I do believe we can agree she is still on our side.

Interesting analysis--and interesting predictions.Good analysis, fair predictions.
My predictions:
A blogger is going to get something wrong, be immediately caught by the rest of the bloggers, and the MSM will attempt to use it to tar the bloggers. It won't work.
The MSM people will attempt to replicate the conservative bloggers' success, but will be unsuccessful becasue they will just be duplicating their present work: they will try to tar conservatives, which they do now, and ignore news which doesn't fit their agenda.
BTW, Noonan's prediction of a big name MSM person hitting it big on the blogoshpere is silly. She doesn't have a clue about the caliber of today's bloggers.

Is Peggy warming up to bloggers, or what? She sees us as new ham radio operators in the storm. Quite a compliment:
Finally, someday in America the next big bad thing is going to happen, and lines are going to go down, and darkness is going to descend, and the instant communication we now enjoy is going to be compromised. People in one part of the country are going to wonder how people in another part are doing. Little by little lines are going to come up, and people are going to log on, and they're going to get the best, most comprehensive, and ultimately, just because it's there, most heartening information from . . . some lone blogger out there. And then another. They're going to do some big work down the road.

Hard to figure that she changed sides, she has been on her own side for a long time.
Helps to understand that when you review what she said about the Bush do. Helps to keep it in mind on this occasion, too.
