Or maybe it's dawning on them that they've been so wrong all along and now are going to have to face it.

Did Peggy just have an epiphany (in the non-spiritual translation)?
In our pj's we are giving the MSM nightmares. Next they will be in therapy worrying that a horde of bloggers in Dr. Denton's is coming to take them away - a ha.

The great correcting mechanism for people on the Web is people on the Web.Great insight and the rational for FR. What is posted is challenged and eventually the truth will out. The MSM never has had that challenge until now. Right now they still have an audience, but, if they do not change, they will end up talking to each other.

Could it be that the MSM is a part of the Socialist Elite Movement to undermine the US Constitution and replace it with the European Socialist Constitution? Not sure if I'd label as precisely as you did, but I do believe the media sees itself as an upper tier in a tiered/caste-like society; and will do what it can to maintain and advance control of the masses by elites.

This is the strenght of the internet. Sure, you can write anything you want, but if you can not back it up, you will go no where.

The MSM never has had that challenge until now. Right now they still have an audience, but, if they do not change, they will end up talking to each other.Logically, they will change, and for the better, too. Whether they like it or not, everything the old media produces is being "blogalyzed". The checks and balances have moved into the MSM despite themselves.
Rather than witnessing the demise of the MSM, we will probably notice a drastic improvement in their reporting, production, research and source selection. They may even become less pedantic.

The bloggers (and lurkers) represent for information what Adam Smith's "invisible hand" represented for economics. No longer can the MSM tell the world what is important or newsworthy. Just as the invisible hand of millions of transactions determines market and price, the millions of Net users determines what is newsworthy without even nodding to each other. This is Capitalism in News.

This certainly explains Hannity's outburst yesterday...
As of February 16th, Hannity is an official member of the MSM.

Well, this site is not a web log ("blog") and that point seems to be lost on the press. It's a news and member comment forum. Not sure about others, but if this were a genuine blog site I wouldn't be here.
And yes, Peggy seems to be back on form and recovered from her bout with inaugural envy.
