Although I wanted to see Specter go, it was NOT like this.
Good luck in your treatment Arlen, even those of us Toomey supporters are behind you on this one!

Prayers for the senator and anyone dealing with this challenge. Second thought is: isn't amazing how God does work.

The good news is that Hodgkin's, when caught early enough, is one of the more treatable forms of cancer. Prayers and best wishes on their way, regardless.

He had a brain tumor several years ago.

Perhaps it would be wise for Senator Specter to (ahem) 'temporarily' step aside as chairman of the SJC, and perhaps someone could 'temporarily' fill his role, like Senator Cornyn of Texas, or Brownback of Kansas, and of course Arlen would be welcome to sit in on any meetings of the committee while he undergoes chemotherapy, but to be sure that he isn't overly stressed from such a regimen, the (ahem) 'temporary' chairman would probably be happy to serve until say,,,the end of 2008!
It's the least we can do for Pennsylvania's senior Senator. ;)

I hope he has a long and healthy

Hodgkins is treatable isn't it?

Although I wanted to see Specter go, it was NOT like this. One thing to consider -when one knows they are possibly very soon to face judgment they tend to reconcile their beliefs and actions...
