Kid Rock Arrested on Assault Charges

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Kid Rock was arrested Wednesday by Nashville police who are investigating a report that he punched a disc jockey at an adult entertainment club.

Kid Rock was brought before Night Court Commissioner Howard Taradash early Wednesday morning. He is charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor. Taradash set bond at $3,000 and the rapper remained in custody until bail could be posted.

Authorities said Kid Rock was charged after a 3 a.m. altercation at Christie's Cabaret near downtown Nashville.

"Inside the establishment there was a squabble concerning, I guess, the selection of music," Nashville police Sgt. James Smith told reporters. "Again there are no major injuries but an assault did take place."

Television footage from outside the club showed the DJ, identified as Jay Campos, with a red mark on his face and holding his broken eyeglasses.

Kid Rock was among the entertainers who sang at a Tuesday memorial service at Ryman Auditorium for songwriter and promoter Merle Kilgore. The 34-year-old rapper, who has performed with several Nashville music figures including Hank Williams Jr., strummed a guitar and sang "I Saw the Light."

Born Bob Ritchie, Kid Rock was a Detroit-area hip-hop DJ when he broke through with 1998's "Devil Without a Cause," which successfully married hard rock beats with rap lyrics.

Sure. For my apology, I'll send you complete copies of Kid Rock's contributions to the world of music. The files are attached to this post...

As noted upthread, if W hadn't come close to maybe inviting this guy to a party once, nobody here would care about him other than to bemoan the slide into the pop cultural cesspool evidenced by his lyrics.

He's a big Bush supporter and he's talented.

This site has gone silly with protecting idiots, just because they also like Bush. Jeff Gannon - Kid Rock....yea, these are the people representing my party. 'South Park' republican is another word for republican who likes acts like Bill Clinton, but who wants lower taxes.

I've often wondered what type of man has to order 'services' off a menu.

"Kid Rock didn't have that kind of money on him?"

Well, I guess the judge wouldn't take a baggie in exchange for the cash.

"You can't use any money on you for bond."

You can, unless it's in bags marked "First National Bank" and covered in red dye.

Really? I was told (by someone whose had far too much experience being in the hoosegow) that they were not able to use the cash on them to post bail, that they had to have their spouse bring it in.

Posts #17 and 39 are the more likely reason he would not have had any more money. Not that I would know from experience, or anything.

unlike groups like Green Day, who are mouthpieces for communism

I almost bought Green Day's first album a few months back, but when I saw and heard "American Idiot" I decided that I would never buy anything that they have anything to do with.

Yeah, I'm sure it's all from second hand knowledge. No pun intended.

Is that why he cut a hole in an American flag and wore it as a poncho?

No one claimed he had class. He supports our troops. And they need all the positive feed back they can get. The troops adore him.

Nope, never went to Windsor, never set foot in Jason's (or that other one), not even for my brother's bachelor party. In fact, I never even heard of Windsor.

Make sure if you get into Dearborn that you never go into BT's, either.

"Make sure if you get into Dearborn that you never go into BT's, either."

I just put it on my list of places to "never go into." Good thing you told me about it! :-)

If it's in Dearborn, are they allowed to peel back their burkhas?
