But non-regular "working women" comprised a huge percentage of the working and lower-middle classes. Things never were the way they used to be -- the world is constantly changing. Some things are worse, I think a lot more are better.
I agree some are better and some are worse.
I'm at a loss for some of the better things right now however. I'm sure there are some. Maybe you can tell me a few.
On the other hand, I think that more people then took the commandment to "honor thy father and mother" more seriously than they do now. In fact, when I ask lots of kids what that means to them, most don't really seem to have a handle on it.
That's just my memory and I don't pretend to know what people in society were thinking, then or now.
Care to prove that assertion? Because, after all, you just insulted the grandmothers and great-grandmothers of practically everyone here.
When you say "huge percentage" I really need a reference or link to support that. I'll believe that there were more prostitutes then than now for reasons I have stated, but I have trouble believing working and middle class women went into the "business" in huge percentages.
