Rush Limbaugh Divorce Finalized

Rush Limbaugh's divorce has been "signed and sealed" in a Florida courthouse, the Palm Beach Daily News reports.

The popular radio host returns to bachelor status after ending his marriage with his third wife, Marta.

The paper said Circuit Judge Sandra Taylor "issued the final judgment Dec. 21 and sealed the 22-page settlement agreement, according to Monroe County (Key West) Circuit Court records."

Marta, 45, a former aerobics instructor, had been married to the country's most famous radio host for 10 years. She will return to using her former name, Marta Maranda, and no longer use the Limbaugh name.

The paper added that "Limbaugh reportedly has been dating CNN anchor Daryn Kagan since August, and media speculation has run rampant as to whether the 42-year-old will become the fourth Mrs. Limbaugh."

Limbaugh's spokesman was not available for comment to the the Daily News.

Rush's divorce comes as no surprise to his 20 million regular weekly listeners. Last June, Rush informed his listeners that he and Marta were going their separate ways.

I don't know, I guess I'm good at compartmentalizing....but I can still listen to Rush, his personal plunderings aside, and be amazed at what I learn. I really don't get bogged down with what he DOES. Because he still speaks the truth.

I can understand a liberal ripping Rush to shreds, but I can't understand a conservative doing so since he has done much more for conservatism than anyone posting here at FR could dream about.

We've got a lot of high and mighty types around here. Its disappointing.

I agree. But don't let it get you down.... let them be. The less attention you give them, the better.

"If I want to listen to a hypocrite, I'll listen to ..."

I've heard some say that they don't go to church because there are too many hypocrites there. Apparently there aren't any at the supermarket or the other places that they frequent.

Even Jesus, himself, was condemned by the "good people" for hanging out with eeeevil sinners.

How funny.

I just got back home and had expected to see 75% flames, but it looks more like 40%, (and most of them got personal so I know I hit a nerve!)
Anyway thanks, and ditto your disciple principle.

The ties were one of her ventures. She also came out with a magazine - maybe 2 or 3 issues. Her attempts at business ventures probably cost Rush a lot of money.

Good one! I like it!

Off-topic sideways: We had to write an epitaph in my high school composition class. I always had a tendency to go a little overboard in that class, even with haikus. But I did get an A+. :o)

A girl lies here of about thirty-five
Who was so very careful when she was alive.
Everything was insured, looked over, inspected.
Each tiny hazard was nearly dissected!
But still, of the telephone she never did tire.
She talked so often the wire caught on fire!
And when along the street came the hearse,
The sign on the side said 'Safety First'.

Not everyone makes a career of it. Yeah, it's true, almost everyone's hypocritical (and yes, including me), but when your entire presence turns out to be phony, you just can't expect people to listen anymore. Maybe if you made some attempt to clean up or to change. But to sit there and still condemn people who are just like you when everyone knows it is sad. And it just is too painful to stay tuned to.

I only have one of his ties, but I get compliments EVERY TIME I wear it. The funniest one was when my yellow dog liberal college advisor was told me how very nice it was. I bit my lip so as not to tell her who's it was (She is also the chair of my thesis committee, and has control over when/if I graduate, so I'm keeping my mouth shut till then).

First of all, I don't accept your strawman premise; it's divorced from reality.

And building on your false premise, you go on to say that because of it people can't be expected to listen any more????? Now that is a REAL riot!!!!

His audience is bigger than ever so they must be "bad" people if they would want to listen to a "bad" person like him, huh? He can't expect "good" people such as yourself to want to listen to him.

Some would say that arrogant, shallow statements like yours exhibit a MAJOR lack of discernment --- at the LEAST.

I would agree with those who would say that. Rush is out of your league. You may as well not listen because it's evident that too much goes zinging right over your head.

Ball and Chain

Well it's been ten years and a thousand tears
And look at the mes I'm in-
A broken nose and a broken heart,
An empty bottle of gin
Well I sit and I pray
In my broken down Chevrolet-
While I'm singin' to myself
There's got to be another way

[Chorus:]
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain
I'm lonely and I'm tired
And I can't take any more pain
Take away, take away
Never to return again
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain

Well I've searched and I've searched
To find the perfect life-
A brand new car and a brand new suit
I even got me a little wife-
But wherever I have gone
I was sure to find myself there-
You can run all your life
But not go anywhere

[Chorus]

Well I'll pass the bar on the way
To my dingy hotel room-
I spent all my money
Been drinkin' since half past noon-
I'll wake there in the mornin'
Or maybe in the county jail-
Times are hard getting harder
I'm born to lose and destined to fail-

[Chorus]

No, I was asking you. Quite politely, I might add...
