Aaron Brown teaser about blogs just now shows Free Republic home page.
Go freepers!
BTW, Matt Drudge was great on H & C last hour, and elaborating/clarifying on the role of the internet. Best to ya, Matt.

FR is NOT a BLOG.
Thank You for saying that. I hate that term and it Po's me when people lump FREEREPUBLIC in that cesspool. Free Republic is a Forum of World Wide information and discussion.

If there was a Free Republic channel, I would put it on and throw away the remote!

Great catch! Thanks for the ping! Should I break out the CNN screen grab into it's own thread? Compare CNN's "fair use" of FR materials vs FNC using the logo during their recent stories:
CNN just took a whole page off someone's computer vs. FNC just had the logo as attribution.
If I remember correctly, FR got in a bunch of legal trouble for less with the NYT, LAT, and WAPO.

I really don't know - it's a question for Jim Robinson. Both the FoxNews channel and the CNN screen image have the Free Republic logo. And I don't know whether CNN ever complained about copyrights and excerpts.
Also, the most recent posts page does not include a copyright notice on the content, just the software.
But it would be a delicious irony to be able to complain about the same thing to one of those who complained to Free Republic!

"What's with that spike in November?"
The election had many conservatives searching for alternative news on the Internet which led them right to FR.

Yes, but you understand we're a bunch of "morons", at least according to the Little Prince who edits the Columbia Journalism Review...LOL.

The guy was on Fox last night and he came back from Davos Switzerland and wrote an article about what happened on the internet because he was so amazed at what Jordan said. It was on the internet that this was spread so quickly. Otherwise, would the OLD MEDIA even have reported it? My guess is no.

..."Sometimes publicity is not a good thing, especially when an obviously biased entity like CNN is doing it."...
Well put... CNN has a reason and it's not a 'pat on the back/ job well done' sort of intent...
I'm sure the liberal mouth-organs would love to see this and other like minded forums shuttered...

I'm with you...
That's another fine reason FR is such a great forum... less gutter mouth and more brain power...
The DU MetroSexual crowd can't say much so they pepper it with obscenities so they can have a complete sentence.

600 million people are on FR every day???
That's twice the number of US citizens.
I'm sure I'm reading this wrong. Otherwise Jim is missing out on a real money-making opportunity.

One minor request ... can we switch the colors?
