China and the Final War for Resources

by Bill Ridley

I. Unrestricted War

Unrestricted War: China’s Master Plan to Destroy America is a treatise for world domination written in 1999 by People’s Liberation Army Colonels Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui. In order for China to become a dominant global power over the United States, the PLA emphasizes “The Final War over Resources”, must be won.

The Colonels state that the aggressor nation “must adjust its own financial strategy, use currency revaluation or devaluation as primary weapons, and combine means such as getting the upper hand in public opinion and changing the rules sufficiently to make financial turbulence and economic crisis appear in the targeted country or area, weakening its overall power, including its military strength. Whether it be the intrusions of hackers, a major explosion at the World Trade Center, or a bombing attack by bin Laden, all of these greatly exceed the frequency bandwidths understood by the American military..."

Can you imagine if U.S. military leaders or politicians made such threatening comments? People would be up in arms and demanding resignations and Congressional inquiries!

However, in another case where truth is stranger than fiction – for the most part the U.S. media and government officials are keeping a lid on this volatile story. As you are about to read, the Chinese have already positioned themselves to inflict major damage to the U.S. economy. For those few brave souls in Washington and the media who are talking, their words are ominous.

The original article is rather long and copyrighted so I've excerpted part of it.

A thought provoking piece. The author lays out some facts and figures of China oil consumption plus economic moves that have not been broadcast, at least not very loudly, by the MSM. Maybe we are in a war for oil, just not in the way the liberal Democrats wish to portray it.

Any oil and gas or economist types out there wish to comment?

Let me put it another way. An American gets his head cut off and the whole world remains silent, as if it never happened. However some probable terrorist gets some panties placed on his head and the whole world moans and groans in angst and disgust! The hypocrisy is just immense!

Don't know if we're doomed or not but the guy does have some good and apparently well documented points. Granted, he does have an alarmist way of writing. I'm not an oil and gas guy nor an economist. I got a heads up on it from someone in the oil and gas business and thought it was rather thought provoking.

not going to happen.

anyone familiar with state of the art tools available today in materials research knows that the cost of hydrogen is going to be collapsed in 4-6 years.

the arabs have overplayed their hand in spades and pissed off everybody around the world. there's not a major lab anywhere in the world today that is not working on bringing on the hydrogen economy.

Not only is it just a matter of time before the world shifts over--but that time frame is much shorter than people expect today.

Read the whole article. I agree he has an alarmist way putting things but he does have several other salient points. I think what you quoted is a dig toward the libs who were silent on the comments.

The U.S. will never need to fight a war for resources, we are capable of creating new resources.

China may eventually fight a war against the U.S., but that's simply because a dictatorship has to always find ways to maintain control of its population, a war is often a war to focus the attention of the people on an outside enemy.

You're right. I usually do a search but this seemed so obscure I didn't do one. Didn't get much response there either did it?

China has exactly the same problem Imperial Japan did. A dependence on imported raw materials and the impossibility of building a navy powerful enough to secure the sea lanes.

Tom Clancy's SSN and The Bear and The Dragon seem to be shaping China's foriegn policy.

Oil will still be needed for plastics and goods.

Ok, even if China had control over our currency as the article propounds, I seem to recall that our troops are currently in the environs of where China gets its oil. In other words, we can cut them off one, two and three.

I do think that sooner or later China and the U.S. are going to come to blows. . .over the Monroe Doctrine.

...I seem to recall that our troops are currently in the environs of where China gets its oil.

That's why I said we just may be a war for oil, but not for reasons the libs keep screaming about. They say we're in it to enrich the oil companies, but this article seems to say we may be in it for our own security.

"I do think that sooner or later China and the U.S. are going to come to blows. . .over the Monroe Doctrine."

Youre right, Im afraid, if things continue unabated.

IMO, part of the comprehensive China 'pincer' strategy includes gaining a foothold in Central and South America.

The first nation to make overt overtures to China is Venezuela.
