These are words-- just words. I may yet be proven wrong, but I truly feel that most Dems simply don't have it in them to reach out to evangelicals. Even if they want to, I don't believe they are capable of it.

Reach away. I'm ready willing and able. Saying that he hates me, however, is not a very good start.

"People of faith are in the Democratic Party, including me,"

This begs the question - What Faith is he of?

"Not only are we going to New Hampshire ... we're going
to South Carolina and Oklahoma and Arizona and North
Dakota and New Mexico," Dean enthused in his speech to
supporters. "We're going to California and Texas and
New York. And we're going to South Dakota and Oregon
and Washington and Michigan and then we're going to
Washington, D.C., to take back the White House!

Yeeeeeeah!"

Howard Dean, "We need to talk more about this Jesus guy and some of that other Bible stuff. Evangelicals really dig that."

Oh, Howard, you've already reached the evangelicals.  They know you and detest you.  You'll win little but contempt as you try to glad hand and fool them into thinking you're one of them.  BTW- a little hint:  They really like it if you call them "Bible Thumping Jesus Freaks".

I agree, because, in general, true evangelicals are busy getting informed.... being exposed to many resources which give them good information and well thought ideas.

We stand watch to the Dems devious ploys..

Probably because most evangelicals (all the ones I know) are quite clear about their pro-life positions, and have no illusions about which party is the abortion party.

None of the evangelicals I know are interested in getting acquainted with or working with Democrats--the Dems oppose home-schooling, oppose abstinence based sex education, promote tolerance of the homosexual lifestyle, oppose parental notification laws, oppose the ban on partial birth abortion, oppose lower taxes--most evangelicals (if not all) are quite clear about who takes what position on these issues.

This part is so telling: "Earlier in the week, congressional Democrats hosted a study session with University of California-Berkeley linguist George Lakoff on how to communicate the Democratic commitment to moral and religious values." They're still trying to figure out the magic words, when the communication of values is really by actions.

Why is so much ink devoted to who gets DNC Chair? Does anyone care about this dog and pony show? The MSM is acting as if this is as big a deal as the Iraqi elections, if not bigger. Perhaps this is because this is the only election that a democrat is guaranteed to win.

I'm trying to picture Howard Dean going door-to-door to talk to Christians. I picture it like this:

"Hi, I'm Howard Dean, of the Dimocratic Party, the Party of gay marriage, abortion, and sodomy.
What can I do to win you over?"

(Householder)"Martha, phone 911! It's Satan!"

My pastor just had a sermon last night on
Matt 7:15-20:
15"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Dean is a wolf in sheep's clothing. IMO

His talks sought to distance himself and the Democratic Party from an image as a secular party out of touch with common Americans.

Funny. I searched this article for the word, "platform" and came up empty.

What Dean is suggesting will require the party to "distance" itself from its own party platform.

This is just too funny for words.
