How Quickly Rangel Forgets?
vanity | 13 FEb 2005 | Tim Wohlford - vanity

Did anyone catch Charlie Rangel on the tube today (Fox?)?

Charlie Rangel said that the Iraqi vote wasn't worth the life of a single American.

Hmmm... on a monument in Ohio are inscribed the names of my forebearers, who fought and died so he could be a US Congressman instead of a house slave in a big house on top of the Arlington hill.

I used to have some measure of respect for Rangel, knowing that anyone who debated him needed to compre prepared for a real fight. However, recent coverage like this (along with the H-C debacle, and the KFC stuff) has convinced me that ol Charlie has flamed out.

Rangel gets an A for courage he comes on Sean Hannities show all the time.
He does appear before some left wing groups but he uses his Korean war veteran status to defect his critics. He gets a fairly free pass in the local media.

How many civil rights marchers died so black people in the south could have civil rights and the vote?

Would Rangel say the black vote was not worth the life of a single white person who went out of their way to give black people justice?

Ha, that was a good one. It's true too.

I grew up in New York and still think it's the greatest city IMO. When I think of how much I love it there, it also saddens me to think of the pathetic spread of the liberal disease that's rotting the minds of New Yorkers.

As for Rangel, I watched a House Forum on cable the other day regarding Social Security reform....his response was meaningless. It just goes to show how liberals are all talk and no action.

Charles Rangel is Responsible for the BUSH IS GONNA DRAFT US heresay.

He wrote the bill and circulated it around to create heresay. He never intended to bring it to a vote.

Compare and contrast Rangel's courage with Ted Kennedy , John Kerry & Hillary Clinton and Rangel wins hands down. Do any of the others sit for Tough interviews. Rangel would appear with Steve Malzberg who can be tougher than Hannity but is a local guy.
He is an ultra liberal but he does not lack courage. Would John Kerry get within ten feet of Mark Levin or Sean Hannity?

I've talked to enough old colored gentlemen (Don't call them black. That makes them mad) to doubt Rangel would have been a house slave.

Acutally what he said was we shouldn't have our children (soldiers) die for other people's freedom.

I guess he forgot about the Civil War.

on Meet the Press he couldnt keep one thing straight and wouldn't answer the questions. He said there was no Social Security crisis then when Tim showed a Bill Clinton quote of a looming SS crisis by 2026 Rangel said that statement was "honesty" at its best. Then he remarked about this old quote of his about fixing a leaky roof on a sunny day. In response to that with SS he said Sunny days were in 1998... So whats that mean? You Dont fix SS? Eventually you got to fix the roof Charlie... Sooner the better.

What an idiot that guy is.
