"He's badly shot up, but he's still got his weapons and he's not quitting," Alexander said of the photograph. "That's the kind of men you want fighting for your country." Amen! Such BRAVE, STRONG men! Such a WONDERFUL country!
We are safe and free because of the courage of these men, and those who have gone before them.
Thanks for the ping, Mike!

Thanks for the ping, Tonk.
Miss Misty, give that brave warrior our best and our heartfelt thanks for his contributions to his country and fellow Marines. My respect has always been with all of the services but the Marines have shown so much "true grit" during these Mid-East conflicts that this airman vet is humbled. CMOH, deservedly!

I noticed that too, 2Jedismom:
Very telling signs of shock. I was reminded of the old First Aid Adage:
"Face is pale. Raise the tail. Face is red. Raise the head."
God Bless Sgt. Kasal.
Jack.

Maybe.
Don't you think though that our democratic society produces more of such men than others ?
Is it not possible thatr they are not so much built, as formed by the free men and women who raise them ?

Absolutely.
"Is it not possible thatr they are not so much built, as formed by the free men and women who raise them?"
No, they are built, but first you must have the raw material from which to build them and that raw material is what you refer to above in #'s 1 and 2.
