Anyway I feel like I'm wasting my effort here. I try to stay calm and have a civil discussion about the core philosophies but many people here insist on tossing insult after insult.

I can't believe I'm actually talking with this trout.

Obviously you are about 14 or that is your mental development.

Winning: That's what any self reliant person with a will to work hard and a third grade education can do in the US of A. Foreigners who can't even speak the language come here and become wealthy in less than a generation.

Stay. Leave. Be happy. Be a jerk. Nobody cares. You lost. Shutup and live your life. We won. We beat your ass despite the entire lame-stream media AND Hollywood trying to put leftists in office. That's the way it is. We don't have to accomodate you or even care that you exist.

You base your entire political philosophy on worrying about underachieving dummies who can't make it in this economy. I'm sorry but dragging down an entire civilization because of the few percent that fail in a land where even and uneducated foreigner can get rich if he half tries is just stupid.

As to the truly honest poor or the kid who never had a chance ... we have always given them a hand up and we always will.

If you can't win in America you are not trying.

I've been traveling, and out of the loop for a while.....I was real happy to get a chance to sit at my PC for a few uninterrupted moments and catch up on my mail and pings and such.

When I got to this one, I was stunned.

How could it be?

I asked myself if the world had radically changed while I was away, and found it had!

The left has found a new leader to guide them to the true path of political awareness.....it's you!

The only thing lacking was the answer to four simple questions. You deserve an answer, and an answer you shall have.........

Get a grip!

I also asked how far right is too right, meaning do we want to get rid of all social programs, public schools, everything, or do we want to keep these things?

Yes. They have done far more harm then good. I deal with the fall out from these programs every day.

If you get rid of these things then the economy has to be kicking all ass to support 300 million people with jobs.

How does that differ from now?

How do Republicans plan to protect our jobs?

That, my dear, is your job not mine.

Is having jobs by the Republican philosophy a birth right

No.

and what happens to people who don't have jobs when there are no social programs?

It's called Charity.

But just think of the long term savings. We could do an "adopt-a-liberal emigrant" program. If each of us adopted one and bought it a one way plane ticket to the communist hellhole liberal mecca of its choice, with an enforceable agreement never to return, of course, that plane ticket would more than pay for itself very quickly in tax benefits alone. Perhaps we could even extend it to include an "adopt-an-illegal alien deportee."

Would you kindly add my name to the list. I will adopt one or maybe two of each; liberal and illegal alien. Please advise when and where to send the money for their tickets.

A Freeper and a Liberal were seated next to each other on an airplane recently.

The Liberal turned to the FReeper and said, "Let's talk. I've heard that flights will go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The FReeper, who had just opened his book, closed it slowly, sighed and said to the Liberal, "What would you like to discuss?"

"Oh, I don't know," said the Liberal. "How about Iraq?"

"OK," said the FReeper. "That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first.

"A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat grass. The same stuff. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?"

"Jeez," said the Liberal. "I have no idea."

"Well, then," said the FReeper, "How is it that you feel qualified to discuss Iraq when you don't know shit?

This country has actually been moving to the left for decades. What you call "far right" is what I grew up with. You are the ones who have changed things, moved the landscape to the left, and then say we have moved to the far right.

When you begin with a false premise, how can we have a meaningful discussion?

John Kennedy would not recognize his party today. He dramatically cut taxes and was an absolute hawk on defense. His younger brother is a failed lifeguard who got kicked out of Harvard for cheating and has been a public embarrassment most of his adult life.

I don't want liberals to leave. I want leftists who hate America while we are at war to save Western Civilization to leave.

(reprise, and change) DADDY, WHAT IS A RIGHT WINGER? -- change to "Middle American"
dfu | 11-2004 | dfu

Posted on 11/08/2004 7:22:46 AM PST by doug from upland

NOTE: I am bringing this back for those who missed it. Unlike the DemocRATS, we are not afraid to let people know what we believe. The other side wants to fool people and are afraid that they will learn what the left believes. We are Middle Americans. Perhaps that is what we should be calling ourselves rather than their definitions like neo-con and right winger.

When my daughter was growing up she asked me that same question that your children probably asked you. The answer was given during the Clinton times, but today the issues seem pretty much the same.

Those on the so-called political right hold some general beliefs in common. Not all of those on the right hold all of the same views.

I began the explanation with an exercise. We went into the middle of our street in front of the house. I had her take three steps to the left, and I took three steps to the right. She understood that, in political terms, I was positioning myself on the right. She was positioning herself on the left. Then, I had her take three more steps to the left. And three more steps to the left. And three more steps to the left.

She noticed that I was pretty far to the right of her. Her comment made me proud when she said, "Dad, yeah, you are way to the right, but you didn't move. You are where you were before. I have gone over the sidewalk and am on the front grass." Point made.

We did more, however, than merely play in the street. We had some real discussion during her growing years, and I gave a general idea of some of the beliefs held by those on the political right. Welcome to the dreaded right wing.

1. We believe that it is the right of all men to live free and determine their own destiny.
2. We believe that we are ultimately answerable to God for what we do on this earth.
3. We believe that the Constitution is the greatest secular document ever created and that, although it is secular, the influence of God in its creation cannot be denied.
4. We believe that men and women are different and that children have a much better chance in life if they are raised by a mom and a dad.
5. We believe that America is the greatest nation in the world and the greatest force for advancing freedom in the history of this planet.
6. We believe that it is first the job of the family, the extended family, friends, neighbors, and your community to help people. We should not look to the federal government first. That was never intended by the Founders and is an enormous waste of money and resources.
7. We believe that people who do bad things deserve to be punished. We may feel badly that someone had a rough childhood, but that gives him no right to harm another innocent person.
8. We believe that a murderer should pay with that which he has taken from someone else.
9. We believe that the most innocent of all -- the child developing in the womb -- needs to be protected.
10. We believe in the dignity and ability of individuals, not of groups. We will judge everyone on what they do, not on the color of their skin.
11. We believe that people should be rewarded by their sacrifice and hard work, not because they are part of a favored group.
12. We believe that slavery was horrible, but there are no living slaves and no living slave owners. A white person can feel badly that slavery was in our history, but we have no reason to feel guilty. We didn't do it.
13. We believe that the most important purpose of the federal government is the national defense of this country and maintaining a strong military.
14. We believe that if communists or Islamist terrorists want us dead, we need to take the strongest action possible to prevent it. We shouldn't leave our security to the United Nations.
15. We believe that you don't negotiate with evil. You destroy evil.
16. We believe that there are some bad policemen, but the overwhelming majority do a great job. We should be grateful that they are willing to put their lives on the line to protect us.
17. We believe in the right to own guns for our personal protection.
18. We believe that trial attorneys have run amok and are sucking the lifeblood out of business.
19. We believe that our schools have been taken over by leftists who care more about their agenda than teaching our children the skills they need to succeed -- reading, writing, math, and science.
20. We believe that homosexuals should be left alone, but that marriage needs to be between a man and a woman, and that children should be adopted by a mom and dad.
21. We believe that the word "American" has no place in the American Civil Liberties Union.
22. We believe that people should be able to smoke in a restaurant if that is the way the entrepreneur wants to run his business.
23. We believe that the excessive confiscation by the government of the money we earn is both immoral and hurts our economy.
24. We believe that an able-bodied person who receives money from the government (from us) should do something productive to get that money.
25. We believe that the free expression of faith does not violate any provision in our Constitution. In addition, we believe that the attack on religion and decency is doing great damage to our nation.
26. We believe that immigrants should obey our laws and wait their turn in line to come into this nation.
27. We believe that Ronald Wilson Reagan is the greatest president of the 20th century and that Bill Clinton is even worse than Jimmy Carter.

28. I believe that Islamist terrorists and Hillary Rodham Clinton pose the greatest dangers to this republic.

, the goal is to allow everyone to be a winner.

Not possible. Everyone cannot be a winner and anyone who thinks so is a loser.

We can all reach for higher things but we are not going to always get them. And there is a cost. There must always be a cost or else it is worthless.

Having a system where your only limits are those that you place on yourself (which is what we want) and your system where "everybody is a winner" are two quite different things.

Everybody being a winner is not in your power to grant. It is not within the power of any human.

1. Freedom and prosperity.
2. No. Not unless you want to interfere with #1.
3. When it interferes with #1.
4. That seems like a good use of government funds.

Yes, we're glad to share the country... Until you interfere with our freedom and prosperity. By the way: Socialism interferes with freedom and prosperity. High taxes interfere with freedom and prosperity. Government mandated social programs create Socialism and high taxes and thus, interfere with freedom and prosperity. Activist judges interfere with freedom and prosperity.

If you want to live in a Socialist society, there are plenty of them to choose from. If you want to be free, there is only one choice. Please don't mess with it. Thank you.

If you want us to leave, will the US government pay for our plane tickets?

So typical of a liberal/socialist. Somebody else has to pay.......like the government/taxpayer. Buy your own damn plane tickets. Ass......door. Get it?

I have to respectfully disagree. Plane tickets to a God-forsaken socialist paradise (pretty much any place other than the US, mostly) is a government program I can get behind, mostly because it gets these tax and spend b@$t@rds out of the country so we can finally be free. I say amen, and where do I line up to contribute?

Yep.

My family motto is "So long as I have a biscuit, you have half"

My brother will never be able to pay for his girl's college. Knowing that we started up college funds for them right after birth. No muss, no fuss. They are family and you take care of family.
