February 12, 2005--In a very early look at the 2008 Presidential Election, Senator Hillary Clinton leads Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice 47% to 40%. At the same time, Secretary Rice leads Senator John Kerry 45% to 43%.
The survey was conducted January 29-30, before Dr. Rice's first international tour as Secretary of State. Since the survey was taken, Americans have grown more optimistic about the situation in Iraq.
Fifty-one percent (51%) of voters believe that Senator Clinton is politically liberal while 27% say she is a moderate. For Senator Kerry, 46% said liberal and 31% moderate.
Secretary of State Rice is viewed as conservative by 43% and moderate by 28%.
Among married Americans, Rice has a very slight lead over Clinton. However, the New York Senator leads 55% to 32% among those who are not married.
Rice leads among Investors, 50% to 40% while Clinton leads among non-Investors 53% to 30%.
In a match-up with Senator Kerry, Rice does better among men than among women.

Paula Jones, Kathleen Willy, they might decide to come out of the woodwork, she made lots of enemies.
There was a time when a Cabinet member could run for President without having past experience as an elected official, but not for many decades now has that worked out successfully.
Someone please list the Republican governors who could be national candidates.
they only need 60K voters in Ohio to buy it.
The Iraq war was worth 3 million votes for Kerry. Hillary os the Ward Churchill of politics, she is adored by her peers but thats about it. Hillaray is no John Kennedy, if the GOP loses it's because it's meant to be.
Why does no one apply the "Senators can't win" rule to Comrade Hillary?
Well then, it's time to repeal women's right to vote ;-)
Good question!!
Comrade Kerry lost because he is a traitorous buffoon who got called on it by a group of veterans,
not because he is illegally occupying a Senate seat.
Thought you might want to post a little something about Comrade Kerry. (Reference Post 30)
Its waaaaaaaaay too early for this crap.
And yet less then half will vote for her.
Hillary is a paper tiger. She would lose to just about any Republican, and Condi would cream her.
By the time the election comes around our candidate will be quite visible. This is already the star powered peak for Hillary. On the other hand, Condi, although well known to us political junkies, is not well known at large. And yet she is already competitive!
Scrutiny and exposure would put Condi way, way ahead of poor Hillary.
"Let's face it, Hillary will win every poll from now on. The media has begun their obvious support of another Clinton for President."
The media has forgotten that Hillary was "Co-President" for eight years. Doesn't that make her inelligible in 2008? (One could only hope!)
Condoleezza Rice has already said she
has no interest in running for any office in 2008
This poll, like all other polls, are a waste of time.
Don't discount the toe-sucker, he's on our side now.
The MSM has always told us W is stupid.
So his successor moving up into a position of increasing responsibility and exposure must be purely accidental.
In two years when VP Cheney announces his resignation,
and SoS Rice is nominated to move up again that will be accidental too.
