BU´s Dems are selling these bracelets at the GSU.Boston University College Democrats are continuing the fight for progressive ideals by trying to sell 500 blue wristbands, engraved with the text "Think BLUE 11/4/08," in less than a week.
"Think BLUE," a $1 band fashioned after Lance Armstrong's "LiveStrong," represent the importance of a democratic presence and recognition that national elections happen more often than every four years, Treasurer of the College Democrats Megan Jacobs said. "I thought they would be good to build a sense of community among Democrats," the College of Arts and Sciences junior said. "They are about keeping up the fight and not waiting till 2008.
CAS senior Daniel Hoffer, vice president of campaign relations, said the group was motivated to sell the convenient and fashionable bracelets to show Democratic pride and raise needed funds. "BU makes it so difficult for political groups to get and make money," he said. The BU College Democrats are planning a trip to Washington, D.C. in April in effort to build a stronger group, according to CAS senior Matthew Henderson, the College Democrats President. "It is important that college students stay active in what might appear to be a down time in the elections cycle," he said. "We are planning a variety of activities in addition to the D.C. trip to build our group membership in order to give our members more opportunities and to strengthen the voice of our club when working with elected officials."
The College Democrats started selling the wristbands on Tuesday and sold out the same day. An additional shipment of 500 will be received this Friday, Jacobs said. Teresa Heinz Kerry sported "Think BLUE" at a party in celebration of Massachusetts Campaign workers last Friday at the Westin Hotel. The profits from the $1 bracelets will be split between the College Democrats and the creators, a Californian democratic group, which will be donating all profits to moveon.org, a liberal intrest group.
People did "think blue" already.
Most people rejected it.
If I lived up there, Id have to go out right now and get a red bracelet and hope some teeny bopper didnt mistake it for a sex bracelet.
So if they wear the blue band on their left wrist are they a top or a bottom???
'Rats love to segregate people.
I'd start selling blue wristbands that say: Democrats -- Once in a Blue Moon. Then no one would know which ones people were wearing.
They could hold their breath until they "turn blue" for all I care.

My son wears a blue wristband, and has for about 6 months. It says "Bush/Cheney 2004..wear only on right arm."
They're even selling them on ebay.

Don't the Dems ever have an original idea.
I'm tired of those bracelets period. Quite childish.
If those brains of mush undergraduates at BU think wearing bracelets will make a difference in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts - they are even stupider than Kennedy, Kerry, and the DNC already think they are.
A pointless and futile waste of time and money. I like it.
The dark green ones sold at 7-11 to support the troops says "Made in China" on the inside. LOL
Hehehe...not a bad idea.
