TUCSON - A Mexican national has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly smuggled illegal immigrants into the United States.
If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
Jorge Ayala Guardarrama-Ascuncion, also known as Jorge Ayala-de Ascuncion, was indicted on 15 counts on Wednesday, according to a U.S. Attorney for Arizona press release on Thursday.
The 31-year-old man from Estapa del la Sal, Mexico, was allegedly part of an illegal immigrant smuggling operation. He allegedly brought 13 illegal immigrants into the United States, putting them and himself in a truck.
According to the government's complaint, the defendant denied being part of the smuggling operation, but four of the survivors of the wreck identified him as their guide who brought them across the border. Another witness said the Mexican national threatened the life of anyone in the group who talked.
Smuggler Threatens witnesses after Grand Jury indicts
Wow.
And he will be in jail at taxpayers expense.
What would a flying monkey say about this???
j/k...........
Oh, you mean the other thread. Yeah, that's a hoot.
I'm just here to ping the insanity no other Americans wish to ping...
Yep that one!! :) Thanks HiJinx.
Sometimes I wonder if anything will ever seriously be done about this problem. We've got to go after the employers, it's the only real solution, that's why employer sanction laws were passed in 1986.
Only more proof, the Mexicans only take jobs the Americans dont want...
And? How many u.s citizens r in prison to date? Have any of you gone to Mexico? I mean, other than acopulco, or cancun?? Do you understand what they are running from? A currupt police system( they tried to get money out of us, and I am american), crime, poverty, they come here not to steal your jobs, your women, they come in the hopes of giving more to the families they leave behind, and they take the crap jobs that we feel are 'beneath us' at wages we wouldn't dream of accepting. Now sure, a handful are bad, they smuggle drugs, drink too much and beat their wives, but the same can be said for any race. And if memory serves me, all of us have ancestors who originated from somewhere other than here, and they immigrated. Shame on those hwo feel they own a country that was founded in freedom. And it does not say anywhere in the constitution, or anywhere else for that matter that it is ONLY for u.s born people. Get a clue, and a life. Spend more time looking at your own character , and less at the characters of others.
That's only one variable in the equation. Many of the employers are... shall we say not engaged in wholely upright businesses. The areas between the ports of entry have to be sealed tight, yet those who want to follow the rules need a means to come in legally.
I've worked in the real Mexico, I hear you. The real Mexicans have a lot to say about the border Mexicans, real Mexicans love their country, are extremely conservative and christian, and are trying to remove the coruption while working within their system, similar as to what we are trying to do to liberals in this country. I generally stay away from immigration threads.
That's a big problem in NY now, lots of businesses doing under the table work using illegals. Btw I agree, we need better patrolling of the borders as well. And cut the benefits out too.
Some of the businesses I was referring to were shall we say White-Slavers if you get my drift.
Yeah I sort of figured where you were going but I think the whole business with illegals is corrupted, all the more reason to put a stop to it.
And how would the USA be if Americans were always running away from everything? I'm glad our American patriots didn't just run but fought for our freedom, just like the Mexicans didn't send their army to Iraq --- it's Americans over there fighting for someone else's freedom. We don't need cowards here who just flee and refuse to fight for anything.
bttt
Satisfy your vanity yet? You would inflict liberalism on others just to satisfy your selfish little self, that is disgusting.
Of course he will be jailed at taxpayer's expense. No one seems to have the cojones to bill the Mexican government for his stay. Before you start throwing out the R card, the article states that this man is a Mexican national, therefore the Mexican government should get the bill, imo of course.
This article is poorly written, imo. I believe this person's vehicle was one of the ones wrecked in recent weeks, resulting in death and injury. If he hadn't been smuggling humans into this country and breaking our laws, this wouldn't have happened in the first place. Are you going to tell me that this person was just here to wash dishes?
We're talking about a smuggler, not a person getting smuggled.
