Top CNN exec resigning over Davos remarks By Carolyn Pritchard CBS MarketWatch Last Updated: 6:40 PM ET Feb 11, 2005 SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- CNN's top news executive, Eason Jordan, said Friday he's resigning amid controversy over his assertion that journalists were targeted and killed by coaltion forces in Iraq. "After 23 years at CNN, I have decided to resign in an effort to prevent CNN from being unfairly tarnished by the controversy over conflicting accounts of my recent remarks regarding the alarming number of journalists killed in Iraq," he said in a note to CNN staff. CNN is a unit of Time Warner (TWX: News, Quote) .

That's what I was saying, we're way ahead on the head count for getting rid of bad media people. And, we didn't have to make death threats to them and their families the way the left does.

Yup, Jeff Gannon has been widely trashed in the MSM for nothing, but the Eason Jordan case hasn't even been touched by any of the MSM.... I'd rather that Jordan had been forced to resign when he admitted in the NY Times that CNN had been Saddam's willing propagandist for many years in order to preserve 'access' but at least he finally gets nailed for trashing our troops....only problem is that he'll probably quickly slide into a cushy position at a prominent school of journalism and then pop back into network news at some point. His pals will see that he's well taken care of.........
