Annapolis, MD. (AP) If Democratic leaders want to conduct an investigation of an aide to Governor Ehrlich who was fired for circulating rumors about Mayor Martin O'Malley, the governor says they are welcome to do so.
Ehrlich told reporters in Annapolis today he would help out with an investigation of Joseph Steffen, who posted rumors on the Internet that the Baltimore mayor had had an affair. O'Malley and his wife, Catherine, denounced the rumors as despicable lies.
Ehrlich said it is clear that Steffen acted alone in repeating the rumors on the Internet. But Democratic leaders believe it was part of an orchestrated effort to spread rumors to hurt O'Malley, who is considered the top Democratic challenger to Ehrlich's bid for a second term next year.
Is this guy faithful or not?
Governor Probed, Welcomes Rumors.
I'm picturing JimRob sitting behind his computer smiling as he read that quote from the paper while having on his next screen all the IP addresses resolved to trolls.
I hope you're right. I would love to see this blow right back at them.
Hmm. All you had to do was go to the original post and see that the Washington Post and the NY Times lied through their teeth about what the post said or who posted it.
A completely different freeper asked for information about the rumor. Steffen posted a couple of innocuous comments on the thread. Nothing that he said added to the rumor, confirmed it, or spread it in any way. His comments were about the equivalent of saying that it was a nice day.
I figured I'd ping you even though you probably have seen it..... b4
O'Malley should just go on Maury Po'bitch and do a DNA test.
That's the ticket, YEAHHHH!!
Heard a few minutes of buzz on all of this on the Ron Smith show on WBAL around 4:50 PM EST.
If you are Sidney Blumenthal and his little sociopaths, that's about all you have. It is a rather pathetic attempt to trash conservatives in order to get left-wing lunatics elected. It won't work.
We are collectively more honest and have more integrity than many of the MSM institutions. We also get the real story faster. I offer as evidence the crushing of the fabricators at CBS who tried to smear the President and the exposure of the kidnapped soldier as reported by the AP and others as a plastic doll. That's primarily because WE WANT THE TRUTH! and they CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!
There were about 5 of them.

Do any of you actually live in Baltimore? I do and have for most of my life. Since O'Malley has taken office, the drug problem is definitely getting better, especially over the last 2 years. I have noticed stepped up police patrols walking the beat to deter criminals. I am right in the heart of Baltimore and while there are many problems, O'Malley is not to blame. And I'm not even a democrat. The school budget was not his fault, that problem came from the screwed up board of education in Baltimore and as far as most of the other problems, take a look at the City Council, they definitely have their share of elected idiots. It is getting better though. There are now tougher procedures for getting on welfare (to stop fraud) and lots more drugs programs out there to deter the petty users, as there seems to be no way in hell to stop the flow of drugs. This problem is EVERYWHERE, not just in Baltimore. And while there are many addicts in Baltimore, there are a large amount of users coming to Baltimore from all over MD and elsewhere. If you're gonna bash Baltimore, at least take a look at the REAL progress firsthand, not just with a drive through, either.

I live in Baltimore County and last year O Malley's wife came and gave a speech at our Law Day Ceremonies. When asked about her husband she said he as wonderful and that the sky was his limit. I can't believe that one year later she's kicked him out of the house! ANyone know the condition of this Sade woman? Was she really hit by a car? And how come the local media hasn't said anything about this?

Thanks. Good stuff indeed.
Ummmm.....Is that worse than a mere Zot?
These attacks have surfaced this week, at the same time that Howard Dean, pioneer in computer fundraising and web logs for the democrats, is ascending to power in the democrat party. Coincidence? I think not.
I think it is a extra-double-priority-ultra-super-Zot
Graham Parker's last record with the Rumour was in 1980, so there's really not much point to this probe.
Someone with a great expense account, needs to take a trip to Italy and check it out.
Isn't that what investigative reporters do?
