If it's a probe by a bunch of RATs then the conclusion is already foregone.

It's a shame this isn't a crime. Then we could get supoena power and some people up before the grand jury to give testimony "under oath".

Now THAT would be interesting. I would especially like to hear what that little cutie had to say.

Coincidence? I think not.

hmmm...pretty thin but, you never know.

The real reason, IMO, is that O'Malley has been trying to find an opportune time to put this "rumor thing" onto someone as a political dirty trick and he opportunistically found his man. He had to clear this up (obfuscate it) before he runs for guv and the opportunity presented itself in the form of NCPAC aka Steffan..etc.

These rumors have been out there for years. One certainly needs to "question the timing".

Not sure if this was brought up or not, but when did this story break in relation to the 9-11 is equal to Bush budget cuts remark?

Could it be a wag the dog deal?

My guess is that the Govenor knows that not only will they find that one of their own instigated the story, but that their may be some truth to the allegations. If the Democrats decline to investigate, you can bet that the allegations of infidelity were actually true.

Couldn't agree more. Governor Ehrlich has been hit with much worse stuff that doesn't get press at all. Omalley is a slimeball crybaby...

Word on the street in MD is that O'Malley is a womanizer, very
much in the mold of Kennedy and WBJC. Another self-aggrandizer with astronomical aspirations.

As many may know, the RAT part of MD runs from Baltimore toward D.C., i.e. the suburban counties ringing D.C. - Montgomery and Prince George.

There are two RATs being considered as opponents for Gov. Ehrlich in the next election - O'Malley, mayor of Baltimore and Doug Duncan, County Executive of Montgomery County. There is no love lost betwixt them.

It is quite possible that operatives of the Montgomery County faction set this up to nail O'Malley and got a two-fer in involving an aide to Gov. Ehrlich.

The aide to Ehrlich was wrong. He apparently used state computers and state time to post here. But the bigger story will pop on the screen if MD4Bush and the other "one time" posters are identified.

I suspect the one timers are regulars at the Baltimore Sun forum.

Score one for the Mayor. He has deflected all talk of the REAL issues from himself, such as his comments re Bush and policy this week.

And, to be honest, the Governor has Mr. Steffen's computer and all the info. Nothing more will come from this to tarnish the Governor, not that I thought there really would be anything.

If the Dem's push this, Mr. Steffen will end up being owed a huge apology and the Governor will look like a donkey's behind for the swift "resignation" of Mr. Steffen.

No winner's here.

Clinton was a rapist, Kennedy a murder, Kerry a traitor and the dem's are offended that one of their own is accused of being a cheat! I don't get it. Something else is up. You're right, this should get interesting.

I read for a long time before I posted, my husband is converting me, amongst others, LOL. At any rate, I feel a great connection to Baltimore, one of the best cities. We lived there for a long time, LOVE THE PEOPLE, especially the one's who post here.
