Sarah Scantlin was knocked into a coma by a drunk driver 20 years ago has begun to speak and remember her past. Her brain was injured so badly that doctors first feared she would spend her life in a vegetative state, spending years unable to form words or make any sounds other than loud cries.
A week ago Sarah began speaking and doctors have no explanation.
The parents, brother and sister of Terri Schindler Schiavo hope the Florida courts will see this miracle and think of Terri.
Video tape shown today on CNN Headline News of Sarah with her mother is extremely similar to footage of Terri and her mother. Both daughters were unable to communicate in words. Both were labeled as severely brain damaged.
Bob Schindler, father of Terri Schindler Schiavo says, "In light of the miraculous awakening of Miss Sarah Scantlin in Kansas and the success of the new brainwave test reported in the New York Times this week, my daughter deserves to have this test before she is starved to death by judicial decree."
Terri Schindler Schiavo's parents will be traveling to Hutchinson, Kansas to meet Sarah and her family.
I think that's the primary reason he's doing this to her.
I saw this story on the local news last night, and I immediately thought of Terri Schiavo. Terri, of course, isn't even in a coma. Her chances are even better, if only she could get the care she needs.
Isn't there an insurance policy on her life? I'm pretty sure I heard a discussion of that.
In any case, Michael needs her out of the way so he can marry his mistress. Maybe he'll beat her up like he did an ex-girlfriend.

You all are like women in a beauty parlor, gossiping about things you have no idea about.
Since this never happened, it sounded like a suggestion from one of the people who want her dead. They come up with all kinds of sick ways to kill her. One of them recently suggested how fun it would be to get her parents to cram food down her throat to choke her.
I do think Michael is afraid of what she'll say if she's ever able. I think it would be consistent with the medical reports suggesting she was asphyxiated.
TBP asked a simple question. No need to get snippy.
There's been speculation about an insurance policy, but I haven't seen anything conclusive on that. There were some connections made to an insurance company, but I don't remember what they were.
What until she sees Michael Jackson.
Her first words: "Who shot JR....?"
Thanks. When I tried to watch it from the CNN site, I got a log-in screen for the premium service.
"Well, i tlooks like one can come out of these states if properly cared for. "
she is hardly the first such case. The phrase "Permanent Vegetative State" is a monument to the potentially lethal arrogance of the medical business.
"Of course, the possibility that Terri might one day begin to speak could be why Schiavo wants her dead."
Bingo.
For starters, Felos was quoted this week that there was about $60,000 left in her trust fund. That's not "nothing". It would sure buy a few nice things around my house, that's for sure.
The insurance. OK, Here's what I know. Terri used to work for Prudential Life Insurance as a clerk at the time of her collapse. Most companies have insurance policies for medical, and I can only imagine that a company that SELLS life insurance probably offers it to their employees at a reduced rate. One of those lovely perks. I'm going to say that chances are greater that there was at least one life insurance policy through Prudential on Terri. That's common sense.
Next, Michael and Jodi have an insurance company that they run out of their home, at least they did. Whether or not it's still in operation is an unknown. The name of the company is Jerger & Centonze (Jodi's name) Insurance Company. Jodi used to work for the Jergers at their business before they split it up into several groups. Michael is listed as a director on the company form which is listed with the State of Florida. Interesting note: the company name is misspelled when you try to look it up, which would make it harder to audit. *Insurance* is misspelled as *insurnace*. IMHO, I think it would be very likely that Michael would have legally bought Terri a life-insurance policy through Jodi's company. He's Terri's husband, and even though he's living with Jodi (and fathered two children with her), he's not married to her. To say that he wouldn't have bought a policy would be ridiculous. I mean who could resist a deal like that? JMHO.

There have been a couple of FReepers who have said that they have been. One said it was like going in and out of a deep sleep. She could hear things going on around her but she could not open her eyes. Then one day she suddenly did. I don't know how long she was in it, I don't think she said. Both posters have posted on Terri threads at some point this week, but it would take a little work to go back and find the posts and the Freepers.
Bee-u-tee-full!!!

I seem to remember that you once said, pp 'it's all over, let Gore have it'. I can post the thread started by you if you want me to quote you accurately.
Wow...I'm flattered that you remember an obsure post I made...or maybe you're a stalker.
I wouldn't be flattered if I was you. I wouldn't touch you with a 10 foot pole. If you attack others of being of mindless gossip, I will remind you of yours.
